The Texas Rangers and Arizona Diamondbacks face off on Wednesday at Chase Field in an interleague showdown. On Tuesday it was the Diamondbacks who found the most success coming away with a 7-0 victory.
The Diamondbacks have not found a whole lot of success but they have to feel good about themselves after running up the score on Tuesday. This is an offense that hasn’t found a whole lot of success this season so scoring seven runs have to feel good. Carson Kelly was the best player for the Diamondbacks hitting one and driving in 3 RBI’s. In this game they need the Diamondbacks offense to step up again.
On the other side of this matchup is the Rangers who’s offense hasn’t been great all season and their pitching staff has been even worse. Over the last two games they have given up 15 runs total, and their bullpen and starting pitching has been equally as bad. Joey Gallo has hit ten home runs and driven in 25 RBI’s. In this game they need a good start from Wes Benjamin and the offense needs to get going early. Another cold night from the bats won't work.
Wes Benjamin is going to get the start for the Rangers and coming into this game he sits with a 1-1 record and an ERA of 4.41. There have been some bad outings for him and they need him to be more on his game in this one.
The Rangers are 1-7 in their last eight interleague games. The over is 6-1-1 in the Rangers last eight interleague games. The over is 8-2-1 in the Diamondbacks last 11 games played on Wednesday. The Diamondbacks are 7-23 in their last 30 games overall.
The Rangers offense isn’t good and that is going to continue in this game. Look for both pitchers to have a big game and that is going to lead to this game going under the posted total. In terms of the side it's a lean at best to the Rangers but the side is what I am more confident in, and what you should bet.
