The Cleveland Indians and Detroit Tigers face off on Sunday in an American League Central showdown at Comerica Park.On Saturday it was the Tigers who found the success coming away with a 5-2 victory over the Indians.
The Tigers have struggled this season and now they have to deal with their manager Ron Gahrdenhire stepping down from the team. The Tigers won’t be making the playoffs but they still hope to finish the season strong to get a little momentum for next season. As of late the TIgers offense has been a big issue and on Friday they couldn’t even get a run to cross the plate. On Saturday they used a balanced attack with five different players driving in a run.
On the other side of this matchup is the Indians who have some major issues they need to figure out before the start of the playoffs. In four of the last five games the Indians have scored two runs. The Indians did have eight hits on Saturday, but they only managed to have two runs cross the plate, and that wasn’t enough. The Indians have a big chance to run up the score and they need to take advantage,
Carlos Carrasco will get the start for the Indians and coming into this game he sits with a 2-4 record and an ERA of 3.37.
Matthew Boyd will get the start for the Tigers and coming into this game he sits with a 2-6 record and an ERA of 6.75.
The Indians are 12-3-1 in the Indians last 16 games played on Sunday. The Indians are 2-8 in their last ten games overall. The under is 9-3-1 in the Tigers last 13 games played on Sunday. The Tigers are 8-21 in their last 29 games played on Sunday. The Indians are 44-9 in their last 53 meetings against the Tigers. The Indians are 13-3 in Carassco’s last 16 starts against the Tigers.
Boyd has been terrible this season but I don’t trust the Indians to get to him. The Tigers might not win the game but getting +1.5 as an underdog makes a whole lot of sense.
Shane’s Pick Tigers +1.5
