The San Francisco Giants and Seattle Mariners face off on Tuesday in an interleague showdown at T-Mobile Park. These two squads have faced off two times so far this year with the Giants winning each of the games.
The Giants have found success at times this season but they come into this game really struggling. In the three game series against the San Diego Padres over the weekend and during that series they were only able to score two runs. In the last game against the Padres the pitching staff only gave up three runs, but the offense couldn’t even make up for it. Mike Yastrzemski has been the best offensive player for the Giants hitting nine home runs and driving in 32 RBI’s.
On the other side of this matchup is the Mariners who played two games on Monday against the A’s and they were able to split it. Over the last four games, the Mariners have won three of the games. In the first game against the Mariners on Monday they used a comeback in the last couple of innings to come away with the victory. Kyle Lewis looks like he is a star for the Mariners and coming into this game he has hit ten home runs and driven in 27 RBI’s.
LJay Newsome is going to get the start for the Mariners and coming into this game he sits with a 0-0 record and an ERA of 3.24. He has been in the rotation because the Mariners traded away Taijuan Walker.
The over is 7-1 in the Giants last eight interleague road games. The under is 5-2-1 in the Giants last eight games on grass. The under is 8-3 in the Mariners last 11 games played on Tuesday. The Giants are 4-10 in their last 14 meetings in Seattle.
The Giants offense is struggling and there is no reason to believe it’s going to change in this game. Look for Newsome to have a good start and that will be enough for the home team to come away with a big victory on Tuesday.
