The New York Mets and Toronto Blue Jays face off on Friday in an interleague showdown in Buffalo New York.
The Toronto Blue Jays have found a lot of success this season, but coming into this game the offense is struggled a bit. Over the last two games the Mets have scored only four runs total and even though they won one of the games, the offense needs to be better in this game, even though the job probably isn’t going to get any easier. The Jays are still without Teoscar Hernandez who has been the best offensive player for this team.
On the other side of this matchup is the Mets who have been ultra inconsistent this year and coming into this game they have lost two of the last three games. This is a team that hasn’t gotten good pitching as of late and over the last three games they have given up 26 runs. Dominic Smith has been the best Mets player this year hitting seven home runs and driving in 32 RBI’s.Michael Conforto has also found a lot of success for the Mets hitting eight home runs and driving in 27 RBI’s.
The over is 9-4 in the Mets last 13 games following a win. The Mets are 17-8 in their last 25 interleague games. The Blue Jays are 15-6 in their last 21 games on grass. The Blue Jays are 9-21 in their last 30 interleague games. The under is 13-6 in the Blue Jays last 19 interleague games.
Jacob deGrom will get the start for the Mets and coming into this game he has a 3-1 record and a low ERA of 1,69.
Chase Anderson will get the start for the Blue Jays and although he doesn't have a decision yet he currently sits with a 4.94 ERA.
deGrom has been strong this season and there is no reason to believe it’s going to be any different in this game. Look for the Mets to run up the score in this game against Anderson and deGrom will lock down. Back the Mets on the run line.
