The Cleveland Indians and Minnesota Twins meet Friday in MLB action at Target Field.
The Cleveland Indians need a win to snap a three-game losing streak. The Indians have scored seven runs in their last three games and four or more runs in six of their last nine games. The Indians have won eight of their last nine games when scoring four or more runs. Francisco Lindor leads the Indians with 48 hits and 19 RBI while Franmil Reyes and Cesar Hernandez have combined for 93 hits and 38 RBI. Shane Bieber gets the ball, and he is 7-0 with a 1.25 ERA and 94 strikeouts this season. Bieber is 5-0 with a 3.47 ERA and 76 strikeouts in his career against the Twins.
The Minnesota Twins look for a win after winning seven of their last nine games. The Twins have scored 17 runs in their last three games and four or more runs in five straight games. The Twins have won six of their last nine games when scoring four or more runs. Nelson Cruz leads the Twins with 50 hits and 31 RBI while Jorge Polanco and Eddie Rosario have combined for 85 hits and 48 RBI. Kenta Maeda gets the ball, and he is 4-1 with a 2.77 ERA and 56 strikeouts this season. Maeda is 2-0 with a 0.82 ERA and 13 strikeouts in his career against the Indians.
Will update with trends once they're released.
Shane Bieber has allowed eight runs and 28 hits in his last 43.2 innings while Kenta Maeda has allowed 13 runs and 23 hits in his last 43.2 innings. The Minnesota Twins are playing the better baseball and Maeda has been more than solid in his own right, but betting against Bieber isn't an option for me. Bieber has a 1.25 ERA through 57.2 innings and is averaging 14.7 strikeouts per nine innings. Just absolute filth from the 25-year-old. Bieber has been CY Young worthy this season and there's no getting in front of that for me.
I'll take the Indians on the road and whatever the line is once it's released.
