The Kansas City Royals face the Cleveland Indians on Thursday, September 10th at Progressive Field for game four of a four-game series.
The Kansas City Royals defeated the Cleveland Indians by the final score of 3-0 on Wednesday in game three of this series. The Royals' pitching staff was electric on Wednesday, as they were able to shut out a very tough Indians lineup. The Royals were led by Danny Duffy in that game, as although he was not the sharpest, he got the job down for Kansas City. Duffy's final line included 5.2 innings of four-hit and four-walk ball while striking out four batters as well. The Kansas City Royals have now won back-to-back games over the Indians in this series. The Indians currently lead the season series 5-4 and will look for a win on Thursday to clinch a season series victory. The Royals are now 16-28 and remain in last place in the AL Central. The Indians are now nine games above .500 at 26-17 and are 1.0 game behind the White Sox for first place in the AL Central.
The Kansas City Royals are set to bring right-hander Brady Singer to the mound to face the Indians. Singer is 1-4 with a 5.58 ERA through his first 40.1 innings of the season with the Royals. Singer is coming off one of his worst starts of the year against the White Sox. Singer allowed 10 hits and five earned runs through 5.2 innings in the Royals 7-4 loss.
The Cleveland Indians will send right-hander Aaron Civale to the bump for Thursday's game. Civale is 3-4 with a 3.63 ERA through his first 52.0 innings of the season with the Indians. Civale allowed two earned runs through 6.0 innings in his last start against the Brewers.
With Singer on the mound, I like the Indians to score plenty of runs early and often in this game after being shut out on Wednesday. I like the Indians to win this game comfortably with Civale on the bump, as I expect him to give Cleveland yet another quality start. I will take the Indians on the run line.
