The Miami Marlins and New York Mets meet Monday in MLB action at Citi Field.
The Miami Marlins look for a win to snap a four-game losing streak. The Marlins have scored seven runs in their last three games and four or more runs in six of their last 10 games. The Marlins have split their last 10 games when scoring four or more runs. Jonathan Villar leads the Marlins with 31 hits and nine RBI while Jesus Aguilar and Corey Dickerson have combined for 49 hits and 29 RBI. Trevor Rogers gets the ball, and he is 0-0 with a 0.00 ERA and six strikeouts this season. This will be Rogers’ second career game against the Mets.
The New York Mets need a win here to snap a three-game losing streak. The Mets have scored 10 runs in their last three games and four or more runs in seven of their last 10 games. The Mets have won eight of their last 10 games when scoring four or more runs. Michael Conforto leads the Mets with 39 hits and 17 RBI while Robinson Cano and J.D. Davis have combined for 60 hits and 28 RBI. Jacob deGrom gets the ball, and he is 2-0 with a 1.80 ERA and 49 strikeouts this season. deGrom is 10-7 with a 3.06 ERA and 194 strikeouts in his career against the Marlins.
Will update with trends once they're released.
Trevor Rogers is another one of those Marlins pitchers with a promising future, and he was lights out in his major league debut against these Mets, allowing one hit and zero runs in four innings while striking out six. Jacob deGrom has allowed five runs and 18 hits in his last 24 innings, and he's allowing a .240 batting average with 23 strikeouts in 74 at bats against current Marlins hitters. This is a good pitching matchup to start off Monday's MLB betting card, but the difference here is the Marlins have done a ton of traveling as of late, and they're fresh off a series against the Tampa Bay Rays where the offense did nothing. It's hard to see the bats waking up against deGrom.
Give me the Mets, and I'll take the RL for added value.
