The Los Angeles Dodgers and Arizona Diamondbacks face off in a National League West showdown at Chase Field on Saturday. On Friday night the Diamondbacks came away with a 5-3 victory over the Dodgers.
The Dodgers already won one game this series, and they probably should have won on Friday night but the bullpen let them down in a big way. On paper this is an elite Dodgers team, but the last two games they have scored only nine runs total, and they need to get the offense going. The star of the Dodgers offense has been Max Muncy and Corey Seager who have both hit three home runs.
On the mound for the Dodgers is Julio Urias who wasn’t great in his first start of the season, but he did a good job of limited damage. Urias gave up five hits and three walks in the first game, but he only gave up one run.
On the other side of this matchup is the Arizona Diamondbacks who had lost two games in a row heading into their game on Friday night. One of the big issues for the Diamondbacks all season has been with the offense. On Friday, the DIamondbacks did score five runs which isn’t a whole lot, but that was the most runs they have scored all season.
On the mound for the Arizona Diamondbacks Luke Weaver who got lit up like a Christmas tree in his first start of the season. In that start, Weaver gave up six runs on seven hits in three and a third innings against the San Diego Padres.
The Dodgers are 15-3 in their last 18 road games. The Dodgers are 14-5 in their last 19 games overall. The Diamondbacks are 3-13 in their last 16 games as an underdog.
Luke Weaver struggled in his first start and there is no reason it’s going to be any different in this game. The Dodgers offense is going to run up the score and they are going to have no issue running away with this game. Back the Dodgers on the run line to come away with a win.
