The Washington Huskies and the Purdue Boilermakers will meet Friday night in a Big Ten Conference matchup at Ross-Ade Stadium in West Lafayette, Indiana. Let’s take a look at this matchup from a betting perspective.
Washington Huskies Betting Preview
The Washington Huskies enter Friday night’s matchup with a 3-3 overall win-loss record (3-2 record at home, 0-1 mark on the road), including victories over Washington State, Utah State and the Eastern Washington Eagles.
The Huskies offense has been rather pedestrian through six games played in 2026. Let me be more specific. Washington is averaging 26.2 points per game (88th in FBS), 369.8 total yards per game and just 90.3 rushing yards per contest which ranks a rather low 135th in the nation.
Shifting our focus to the defensive side of the football, Washington has allowed 22.2 points per game while surrendering 330.3 total yards per contest. Examining the data just presented more closely, the Huskies have been solid defending the pass, allowing only 193.7 passing yards per game (40th in country) this season.
Through six games played in 2026, signal caller Demond Williams Jr. has compiled 1,396 passing yards, eight passing touchdowns, 183 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns. The talented quarterback’s dual threat ability has been a key component of the Washington offense, both through the air and on the ground. It should be noted that Demond Williams Jr. is officially questionable for Friday night’s contest after sustaining an injury in Washington’s loss to Iowa last week.
Freshman running back Brian Bonner Jr. has amassed 232 rushing yards, while wide receiver Dezmen Roebuck has emerged as Washington’s leading receiving threat compiling 43 receptions, 387 receiving yards and two receiving touchdowns.
Purdue Boilermakers Betting Preview
The Purdue Boilermakers enter Friday night’s contest with a 3-3 record (2-2 record at home, 1-1 mark on the road). The Boilermakers arrive at this contest on the heels of a two-game winning streak which included victories over Illinois and the Minnesota Golden Gophers.
The Purdue offense has been productive this season. Let’s dive into the Purdue Boilermakers relevant team data to better shed light on my previous statement. The Boilermakers are averaging 32.2 points per game while generating 415.5 total yards per contest, including 282 passing yards and 133.5 rushing yards per game.
Defensively, Purdue has allowed 31.3 points per game through six contests played in 2026. The Boilermakers have struggled defensively the vast majority of the season, surrendering 400.7 total yards per contest.
Quarterback Ryan Browne has compiled 1,549 passing yards, nine passing touchdowns, 53 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown. Running back Fame Ijeboi has amassed 549 rushing yards and nine rushing touchdowns, while junior wide receiver Asaad Waseem has contributed 29 receptions and 472 receiving yards.
Why the Washington Huskies will win.
• Quarterback play. Demond Williams Jr. has compiled 1,396 passing yards, eight passing touchdowns, 183 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns.
• Enhanced motivation. The Washington Huskies have lost the team’s last three games played this season.
Why the Purdue Boilermakers will win.
• Home field advantage. The Purdue Boilermakers will play this game at Ross-Ade Stadium.
• Recent form. Purdue has won consecutive Big Ten games against Illinois and Minnesota.
• Offensive balance. The Boilermakers are averaging 32.2 points and 415.5 total yards per game.
• Offensive talent. Ryan Browne has accumulated 1,549 passing yards, while Fame Ijeboi has rushed for 549 yards and nine touchdowns.
Washington Huskies vs. Purdue Boilermakers Prediction
In my opinion, this matchup favors the Purdue Boilermakers. Why? Purdue enters this contest with momentum after consecutive conference wins and is coming off its most complete performance of the season, a 41-13 victory over Minnesota. Conversely, Washington has lost three consecutive Big Ten games. It should also noteworthy that the Huskies have struggled to run the football, averaging only 90.3 rushing yards per game which ranks 135th in the nation. With that said, I am backing the Purdue Boilermakers on to cover the 2.5 points in this game.
