Washington State Cougars Betting Preview
It’s been a very rough year already for the Cougars. Washington State lost their first two games versus Washington and Kansas State before finally bagging a W versus Duquesne in game three. The Cougars have since lost three in a row versus Arizona, Fresno State and Utah State. That gives the team a rough 1-5 run through the first six games of the year.
In the Utah State game last Friday, the Cougars were up 6-0 by the end of the first quarter, then added another 10 points in the second for a 16-3 lead at the break. That’s as far as Washington State would get though, as they were shut out the rest of the way in a 17-16 loss. QB Caden Pinnick was 23-of-36 for 156 yards in the losing effort for the Cougars.
Oregon State Beavers Betting Preview
Over on the Oregon State side, they’ve had some mixed results this year so far. The Beavers kicked things off with a couple of tough matchups, losing to both Houston 33-20 and Texas Tech 35-24 in that pair. After that however, Oregon State got it going with wins over Montana, UTEP and Colorado State for a 3-2 record over the first five outings of the year.
Matched up against San Diego State last weekend the Beavers had bagged a whopping five touchdowns and a field goal by the end of the first half. Oregon State kept it going in the second half and when the dust settled they had a 66-14 blowout win. QB Braden Atkinson was 29-of-38 for 409 yards and five scores. Jesse Legree had 10 catches for 191 yards and three of the touchdowns.

Washington State vs Oregon State Prediction
I’ll stick with Oregon State. The Beavers demolished San Diego State last weekend, bagging 35 first downs, 651 yards and 12-of-17 on third downs. Oregon State only gave up six first downs defensively along with 2-of-13 on third downs and 147 total yards. The Beavers have won four straight games, scoring 33 or more in all four and 52 or more in three of them.
As for Washington State, they hit the wall in the second half of the Utah State game, eventually notching 13 team penalties for 113 yards, two lost fumbles, 15 first downs and a rough 5-of-19 success rate on third downs. The defense played pretty well overall, though: 11 first downs and 3-of-14 on third downs allowed. This is going to be another tricky matchup for the Cougars.
