Matched up against Charleston Southern last weekend the Tigers didn’t have too many issues. Clemson was up 34-0 by the end of the first half. After putting it in cruise control the rest of the way, the Tigers ended up with a 37-0 blowout/shutout win at home. QB Tait Reynolds was 17-of-26 for 127 yards and Gideon Davidson carried 13 times for 59 yards and a TD.

Defensively Virginia Tech gave up 428 yards, 335 passing yards and 21 first downs but did pretty well on thirds (4-of-11) and had two takeaways. It was a solid outing for Virginia Tech after consecutive losses to Pitt and California.
As for Clemson, they held an overmatched Charleston Southern team to just six first downs, 76 total yards and 0-of-11 on third-down tries. The Tigers put up 438 yards on the other side with 231 rush yards and 28 first downs. Clemson has 22 or more points in each of their four wins and 13 or fewer in the two losses.
