We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best UTEP vs North Dakota State pick. UTEP Miners Betting Preview
It hasn’t been a good year for the Miners so far, to put things mildly. Outside of a win over Texas Southern on September 12, UTEP has been on a futile run. The losses otherwise have come versus Oklahoma, Michigan, Oregon State, New Mexico, Nevada and San Jose State. That gives the Miners a 1-6 record so far this year.
In the San Jose State game back on October 17, the Miners gave up a touchdown in the first quarter and went into the break down 7-0. UTEP didn’t get on the board until late in the third, and by that time the Spartans had built up a lead. The Miners fell 24-11 in the end. QB Raymond Moore was 19-of-28 for 195 yards in the losing effort for UTEP.
North Dakota State Bison Betting Preview
Over on the Bison’s side, they kicked off the year on a great run but they’ve been choppy lately. North Dakota State beat Jacksonville State, Fordham, Air Force, Sacramento State and Wyoming for a 5-0 start. The Bison fell to UNLV next before a loss to Nevada. Following another loss to New Mexico, North Dakota State is 6-2 overall this year.
Matched up against New Mexico last weekend the Bison could only muster a field goal in the first half and went into the break trailing 14-3. North Dakota State found the end zone in the third but ultimately couldn’t make the comeback in a 21-16 defeat. QB Nathan Hayes was 17-of-33 for 198 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions in the losing effort.

UTEP vs North Dakota State Prediction
I’ll stick with the Bison. North Dakota State needs a good bounce-back game after losing to a solid New Mexico team last weekend and this is a promising spot to get it. In that defeat the Bison posted just 13 first downs and a 5-of-15 result on third-down tries alongside two interceptions. The defense didn’t play too badly outside of allowing 187 rush yards, surrendering just 15 first downs and 3-of-13 on third downs. That makes 16 or fewer points in each of the Bison’s losses this year.
As for UTEP, they managed 462 total yards with 27 first downs in their loss to San Jose State, but only managed to score 11 points. The Miners have been below 18 points in all six losses so far this season, and below 14 points in four straight.
