Wayne Knight led the rush with 18 carries for 177 yards and two touchdowns.
Maryland Terrapins Betting Preview
Over on the Maryland side, they came out of the gate with a matchup versus Hampton. In that one the Terrapins scored 17 points in each of the first two quarters, eventually cruising to a 62-0 blowout shutout victory. As for game two versus UConn, that was another good showing for the Terrapins. Maryland posted points in every quarter during a 38-14 win in the end.
Matched up against Virginia Tech last weekend, the Terrapins got themselves into a 35-14 hole by the end of the third quarter. Maryland managed 12 points from there but it wasn’t enough in a 35-26 loss at home. QB Malik Washington was 30-of-43 for 359 yards and three touchdowns. Tops in receiving was Chris Durr with 12 grabs for 109 yards and two TDs.

I’ll lean toward UCLA but you could make a case either way. The Bruins gave up a lot to Purdue in their latest win: 488 yards (425 passing), 8.3 yards per play and 23 first downs. It was also a sloppy game with 12 team penalties for 103 yards. UCLA did get three takeaways though, and the offense amassed 645 yards (369 rushing) 35 first downs and 11-of-14 on third downs. That makes 28 or more points in all three games, with 45 or more in two of those.
As for Maryland, they bagged 423 yards (359 passing) and 7-of-12 on third downs in their loss to Virginia Tech. The defense couldn’t get off the field though (36:39 for the Hokies in time of possession), giving up 445 yards, 25 first downs and 10-of-16 on third downs. Maryland will have another tricky game here, but at least it’s at home again.
