Stanford Cardinal Betting Preview
Stanford was only able to muster up a .500 record over their first four games this year. The Cardinal started out with a 37-27 win over Hawaii in the opener, then lost to Miami 45-6 in a tough matchup. Game three was another sizable loss, this time 35-7 versus Duke. After that Stanford got back in the win column with a 34-27 victory versus Georgia Tech.
Last weekend versus Wake Forest the Cardinal found themselves down 15-0 after a couple of touchdowns in the first quarter. Stanford added a field goal in the second quarter but that was their last trip to the scoreboard during a rough blowout road loss 57-3. QB Davis Warren was 19-of-30 for 136 yards and an interception. Micah Ford led the rush on 45 yards from 16 totes.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish Betting Preview
Over on the Notre Dame side, they came out of the gate strong this year. The Irish kicked things off with a dominant win 41-13 versus Wisconsin, then beat Rice 52-0 in game two. Notre Dame continued to roll with a 27-10 win versus Michigan State in game three. Game four was more of the same as Notre Dame took out Purdue 49-10 for a perfect 4-0 start to the season.
Matched up against North Carolina last weekend, the Irish gave up an early TD pass and two more in the second and third quarters. That would lead to a slim 21-20 lead but Notre Dame eventually put the brakes on for a 37-26 victory. CJ Carr was a solid 21-of-29 for 234 yards and four touchdowns. Jonaz Walton had 23 carries for 120 yards as the team’s top rusher.

Stanford vs Notre Dame Prediction
I’ll go with Notre Dame. The Irish did pretty well against a decent North Carolina team in a road matchup last weekend. Notre Dame gave up 18 first downs, 5-of-10 on third-down tries and 285 total yards alongside a couple of takeaways. The offense managed 26 first downs and 475 yards but went a sketchy 4-of-11 on third downs. The Irish have scored 37 or more points in four of their five games so far this season (27 in the other).
As for Stanford, there’s not a lot to like about their blowout road loss to Wake Forest. The Cardinal gained just 197 total yards and 13 first downs with a 6-of-17 success rate on third-down tries. Wake posted 26 first downs, 519 yards and 10-of-13 on third downs on the other side. Stanford has notched seven or fewer points in all three of their losses this year, and they’ve got a very tough matchup this weekend.
