The Aggies shot themselves in the foot during their latest loss to Hawaii, posting three turnovers and a 4-of-10 success rate on third downs. New Mexico State’s defense gave up 353 passing yards (420 total) and 21 first downs but did pretty well on third downs (5-of-15) themselves. The team has had an extra week to get ready for this one, so hopefully it’ll help.

As for New Mexico, they did pretty well against a great Oklahoma team in a tough road matchup last weekend, all things considered. The offense only mustered 185 yards, 12 first downs and 3-of-14 on third-down tries but the defense kept the team in it most of the way (three takeaways and just 14 first downs allowed). The Lobos will be ready for this one. Should be a fun matchup.
