Navy ended up scoring in every quarter on the way to a 42-15 win. QB Braxton Woodson led the rushing attack with 23 carries for a whopping 200 yards and three touchdowns.

In game two versus Florida Atlantic, the Midshipmen took their first loss of the year. Navy was trailing 31-7 by the break but did get better on a 23-7 second-half run in an eventual 38-30 defeat. Woodson led the rush again, this time managing 12 carries for 96 yards and a score. Jackson Gutierrez added seven carries for 75 yards and a touchdown for Navy.

UAB Blazers Betting Preview

Over on the UAB side, they kicked off the season with a tough matchup versus Illinois. The Blazers managed to score points in every quarter, but also gave up points in every quarter during a 42-23 loss. In game two versus LA-Monroe, the Blazers were down 20-13 going into the fourth quarter but then scored 13 unanswered points for a 26-20 victory in the end.

Matched up against Louisiana last Saturday the Blazers were looking up at a 21-7 deficit by the start of the fourth quarter. UAB managed to get into the end zone from there but it wasn’t enough in a 21-14 loss. QB Ryder Burton was 15-of-25 for 144 yards and a pick while Roderick Robinson led the rushing attack with 13 carries for 52 yards in the defeat.

I’m going with Navy I suppose. Probably staying away, though. The Midshipmen’s run-heavy style was on full display in their latest loss to FAU, as the team totaled 246 yards on the ground. Navy was only 3-of-11 on third downs though, and added a couple of turnovers alongside a paltry 26:10 in time of possession. The Midshipmen’s defense gave up 386 pass yards and 27 first downs without a takeaway as well. All of that said, Navy should be in line to have a good game here if they can minimize the mistakes and keep drives going.

As for UAB, they could only muster 218 yards, 3.8 yards per play, 11 first downs and 2-of-12 on third-down tries in the Louisiana loss—not to mention the nine penalties for 89 yards. The Blazers gave up 225 ru thing yards and 21 first downs defensively but still only lost by a touchdown. I’m not thrilled about their potential to bounce back.
