McNeese State Cowboys Betting Preview
McNeese has managed to get five games in the bag so far this year. The Cowboys were outclassed by Stephen F. Austin 38-27 during their home opener, but bounced bak well on a 52-0 blowout shutout versus Texas Wesleyan. McNeese lost their next pair however, falling 27-24 versus Tarleton State at home and 27-10 versus Texas-Rio Grande Valley on the road.
Last weekend versus East Texas A&M, the Cowboys were up by a 13-10 margin as the teams left the field for the locker room at the break. McNeese put up 14 points in the third quarter and held on for the win 27-24. Jake Strong was 17-of-27 for 202 yards and a touchdown. Omiri Wiggins added 12 carries for 116 yards and a touchdown as the team’s leading rusher.
LSU Tigers Betting Preview
Over on the LSU side, they got off to a fast start with a home matchup versus Clemson, taking that one 51-10 in dominant fashion. The Tigers continued to roll with a 45-14 home victory versus Louisiana Tech, but then took their first loss in game three versus Ole Miss. LSU was down 24-7 by halftime but made things interesting in an eventual 32-24 defeat.
Matched up against Texas A&M last weekend the Tigers bagged a touchdown in each of the first two quarters for a 14-3 lead. LSU hit three touchdowns in the third quarter and cruised the rest of the way on a 35-6 victory. Sam Leavitt was 17-of-23 for 312 yards, one TD and one pick. Dilin Jones was the leading rusher in the win with 14 carries for 63 yards and a score.

McNeese vs LSU Prediction
I’ll stay with LSU but I’m not touching it in reality. This is one of those classic “How much will the favorite win by” games with an uncomfortably thick line. In any case, LSU dispatched a good Texas A&M team last weekend with 506 yards, 7.7 yards per play and 20 first downs—but did go just 4-of-12 on third-down tries. LSU gave up only 197 yards with 3.3 yards per play and 11 first downs defensively. It was quite an excellent performance overall.
As for McNeese, they posted just 14 first downs and 3-of-13 on third-down tries (not to mention the 10 penalties for 73 yards) in their tight win over a struggling East Texas A&M squad. The Cowboys had a couple of takeaways on defense and gave up just 4-of-15 on third downs themselves. This weekend will obviously be a much different animal however, and the final score won’t be anywhere close.
