Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns Betting Preview
Louisiana has been able to maintain a winning record through five games so far this year. The Cajuns started out with a 38-7 win over Lamar but then got a tough draw versus USC in game two. Louisiana lost that one 49-30. The next two were both wins for the Cajuns though, as they took out UAB and Charlotte on the way to a nice 3-1 start through the first four outings.
In the Arkansas State game last weekend the Cajuns struck quickly with a first-quarter touchdown but ended up going into the break down 10-7. Louisiana traded punches in the second half during a tight win 23-20. QB Lunch Winfield was 18-of-21 for 189 yards and JJ Garner led the rush during the win with his seven carries for 78 yards and a touchdown.
Louisiana Tech Bulldogs Betting Preview
Over on the Louisiana Tech side, they only have four games in the bag so far this year. The Bulldogs haven’t been able to get on the right side of the .500 mark either. The opener went well, though—LA Tech won that one 80-6 versus Northwestern State. Losses to LSU and Baylor came in the next pair though, dropping the Bulldogs to just 1-2 over three games.
In their matchup versus Army last weekend the Bulldogs fought through a relatively quiet first half, going into the locker room with a 14-7 deficit. After three touchdowns between the teams in the third quarter and some more fireworks in the fourth, LA Tech had a 31-29 win. QB Trey Kukuk was 16-of-22 for 185 yards. Dylone Brooks had seven carries for 119 yards and a score.

Louisiana vs Louisiana Tech Prediction
I’ll go with Louisiana. The Cajuns pulled off a gritty win versus a middling Arkansas State team in their last outing, posting 435 yards, 26 first downs, 5-of-10 on third downs and 34:08 in time of possession along the way. The defense held the Red Wolves to just 16 first downs and 87 rush yards in the victory. Don’t look now but Louisiana is rolling along at 4-1 with three straight wins. They’ve scored 21 or more points in all five games so far.
As for LA Tech, they notched a gritty win of their own versus Army despite going a tepid 4-of-10 on third downs and committing 10 team penalties for 76 yards. The Bulldogs gave up 421 yards and 25 first downs to the Knights defensively. LA Tech has scored 31 or more points in both their wins this year.
