FAU Owls Betting Preview
The Owls have a pretty good year going so far, with only a couple of blemishes on the card. FAU has losses to Florida and Army this season but otherwise they’ve beaten Navy, Florida International, LA-Monroe, Texas Southern and Rice. Over the first seven games that gives the Owls a 5-2 record in the books.
In the Rice game last weekend the Owls were in trouble early with a 14-0 deficit. Florida Atlantic rallied for a 23-21 halftime lead but this game went down to the wire. When the dust settled FAU eked one out 51-49. QB Caden Veltkamp was 29-of-37 for 339 yards, three scores and one pick. Easton Messer had 12 catches for 162 yards and two of the scores.
North Texas Mean Green Betting Preview
Over on the North Texas side, they started out the season at just 1-2. The losses in that time were versus Indiana and Texas State with a win otherwise versus UNLV. Since then the Mean Green have been on a four-game win streak versus Houston Christian, Tulsa, Charlotte and Navy. Over seven games so far that gives the team a 5-2 record.
Matched up against Navy on Saturday the Mean Green scored two touchdowns in the first quarter and two more in the second quarter for a 28-10 lead. Navy rallied a bit in the second half but North Texas was able to stave them off in the end 49-39. QB Tayven Jackson was 17-of-23 for 305 yards, three scores and a pick during the winning effort.

Florida Atlantic vs North Texas Prediction
I’ll try FAU here but you could argue it either way. Should be a fun matchup. In any case, the Owls had some trouble putting away a pesky (and struggling) Rice team in their last outing but eventually totaled 29 first downs with 461 yards. On defense Florida Atlantic gave up a whopping 608 yards though, including 499 on the ground. The Owls have scored 38 or more points in four of their five wins, but they’ve given up a combined 105 points in their last two games.
As for North Texas, they gave up 506 yards and 30 first downs to Navy in their latest win. The Green offense came up with 21 first downs and 477 yards themselves, though. UNT has been on a scoring tear themselves; they’ve hit 35 or more points in six straight, a 5-1 run.
