BYU Cougars Betting Preview
The Cougars only have three games in the can so far this year, but they’ve all gone pretty darn well. BYU’s first matchup was a warmup opener blowout victory at home over Utah Tech 63-7. Game two was a little closer versus Arizona, but still a double-digit win. BYU scored a touchdown in each quarter along the way to a 28-17 victory on their home turf.
In their first road matchup of the season versus Colorado State back on September 19, BYU went into the locker room with a 31-7 lead. The Cougars added 10 more points from there in a 41-23 victory. QB Bear Bachmeier was 12-of-16 for 227 yards and a pick, but LJ Martin did most of the work on 15 carries for 176 yards and three scores in the victory effort.
TCU Horned Frogs Betting Preview
Over on the TCU side, they kicked things off with a matchup versus North Carolina in their opener. The Frogs fell in a tough outcome 15-10 there, but bounced back with a dominant 63-7 win over Grambling in game two. TCU took on Arkansas State in game three and kept the winning ways going. The Frogs scored in every quarter during a 31-7 victory.
Matched up against UCF last weekend the Frogs were competitive in the first half with a 14-10 deficit and added a field goal in the third quarter. TCU gave up an unanswered touchdown after that though, and lost the game 21-13. QB Jaden Craig was 25-of-40 for 310 yards and two picks. Jeremy Payne had 15 carries for 48 yards and a touchdown in the losing effort.

BYU vs TCU Prediction
I’ll stay with the Cougars. BYU has had plenty of time to rest and prep for this one after a pretty nice road win over the Rams. In that one the Cougars posted 559 total yards, 332 rushing yards, 9.6 yards per play and 21 first downs. The 4-of-9 on third downs could have been better though, and there were a couple of interceptions from the offense. Defensively BYU did fine with 17 first downs and 302 yards allowed in the victory.
As for the Frogs, they held UCF to just 266 yards, 17 first downs and 3-of-10 on third-down tries alongside two fumble recoveries in their loss last weekend. Trouble is, TCU had four turnovers and 11 team penalties for 86 yards—not to mention a paltry 33 rush yards. The Frogs have a lot of things to clean up ahead of this game.
