The Cowboys got off to a nice 5-1 start with wins over Concordia-St. Paul, Tennessee State, Utah Tech, SE Louisiana, and Tulane. Wyoming has since lost three straight to LMU, Utah State, and South Dakota, though.

In the South Dakota game, the Cowboys were all knotted up at 37-37 going into the second half. Wyoming was outscored by one the rest of the way however and lost 82-81. Lead scorer Chase Forte posted 25 points with five rebounds and five assists.

BYU Cougars Betting Preview

Over on the BYU side, they beat Central Arkansas, UC Riverside, Queens, Idaho, and MS Valley State in the first five. It’s been a 2-2 run since then with losses to Ole Miss and Providence mixed with wins over NC State and Fresno State.

In the Bulldogs game on Wednesday, the Cougars didn’t have any issues. BYU hit a 44-27 first-half advantage and ended up winning 95-67 after 51 more points from there. Trevin Knell doubled up with a team-high 22 points and 10 boards in the victory.

I’m probably staying with BYU. The Cougars drilled a struggling Fresno State team in their last outing, hitting 55.1 percent from the field with a whopping 50 rebounds along the way. BYU wasn’t perfect though, as their 17 turnovers led to 18 Fresno State points. That said, the Cougars have scored 72 or more points in eight of nine games so far, and 85 or more points in seven of nine. They’re cooking offensively.

As for Wyoming, they out-rebounded South Dakota State 44-28 in their latest loss but couldn’t overcome the 19 turnovers for 17 Coyotes points. The Cowboys can stay in this one by rallying to the glass, but I don’t think they’ll keep pace with a hot-shooting BYU squad cover-wise.
