Wright State Raiders Betting Preview

Wright State didn’t start out the season so well, notching a rocky 5-7 run over their first 12 outings. The Raiders have done great since then on a 10-1 run however, featuring wins over Eastern Michigan, Oakland, Milwaukee, IUPUI, Detroit, Oakland, Youngstown State, Northern Kentucky, Milwaukee and Green Bay during that stretch. That gives the team a 15-8 record in 23 games this year.

In the Green Bay matchup on Sunday the Raiders went into the second half with a 38-28 advantage on the road. Wright State finished off the game on a 47-45 deficit, eventually taking the victory 83-75 in the end. Leading the team in scoring was Kellen Pickett with 21 points and eight rebounds. Solomon Callaghan added 15 points with one rebound in 32 minutes of work.

Robert Morris Colonials Betting Preview

Over on the Robert Morris side, they opened up the season on a 3-3 stretch, then hit a 7-1 run over the next eight games with a lone loss to Milwaukee in that time. The Colonials would then lose four of the next five games but they’ve since improved slightly on a 3-2 run. Those wins were over Northern Kentucky, Milwaukee and IUPUI. That gives the Colonials a 14-10 record this year.

Matched up against Fort Wayne on Saturday the Colonials were sitting in the locker room looking up at a slim advantage on the road 37-35. Robert Morris wasn’t able to maintain it however, and got outscored 48-34 the rest of the way in an 83-71 loss. DeSean Goode led the team with 17 points, five rebounds and three assists while Ryan Prather had 16 points with five assists and four rebounds.

Wright State vs Robert Morris Prediction

I’ll lean toward Wright State. The Raiders were able to take care of Green Bay on the road this past weekend thanks to a strong first half. Wright State ended up shooting 47.2 percent from the field with 89.3 percent (25-of-28) at the line and just four turnovers in that victory. That gives the Raiders 10 wins in the last 11 games. They’ve also won three straight with 76 or more points scored in each of those.

As for Robert Morris, they shot pretty well (47.9 percent) against a decent Fort Wayne team in their last outing and also had a 32-24 rebounding advantage. The 48.2 percent shooting allowed and 15 turnovers spoiled an otherwise solid performance though. The Colonials have lost two of their last three games but they’re still scoring well with 71 or more points in 15 of the last 16 outings.

Andrew Jett's Pick: Wright State Raiders -2.5
