Kent State Golden Flashes Betting Preview

In their first matchup of the season, the Golden Flashes played Troy and were behind 42-34 at the half. Kent State played better from there though, posting a 53-45 run to force overtime. In the end the Flashes fell short in a 103-97 home loss. Leading scorer Delrecco Gillespie had 22 points with 16 boards for a double-double and Morgan Safford added 21 points with four rebounds in 37 minutes of work during the defeat. In game two, Kent State got into the win column for the first time with a 110-102 result versus Cornell. Morgan Safford led the way on 34 points there. As for game three, Kent State was able to muscle out an 86-77 win over UNC Wilmington. Tops in that one was Cian Medley with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Delrecco Gillespie also doubled up on 12 points and 12 rebounds in the victory effort.

In Saturday’s game versus Cleveland State, Kent State had a shootout on their hands. The Flashes were up 44-41 at the half then closed on 58 more points in a 102-95 win. Tops in scoring with a double-double was Delrecco Gillespie with 30 points and 13 rebounds. Jahari Williamson added 23 points and Cian Medley had 13 points with eight assists in the victory.

Wright State Raiders Betting Preview

Over on the Wright State side, they opened up their year with a routine matchup versus Franklin College. The Raiders cruised to the win 86-37 in that one. Michael Imariagbe was tops in scoring with 13 points and four rebounds in just 16 minutes of work. As for game two, the Raiders took a 77-67 loss to California. Michael Cooper led the way this time with 17 points, four rebounds and four assists. Dominic Pangonis added 11 points in 24 minutes as well. In their third outing of the year versus Toledo, Wright State took another loss 81-71 despite leading at the half. Michael Imariagbe topped the team with 17 points and five boards. Michael Cooper added 15 points, and Dominic Pangonis had 13 points in 28 minutes of action.

Matched up against Radford on Saturday, the Raiders didn’t have a ton of trouble. Wright State was up 35-27 at the break, then closed on a strong 57-32 run during a 92-59 victory in the end.

Kent State vs Wright State Prediction

I’ll probably lean toward Kent State. The Flashes put up a nice offensive effort in their latest game versus Cleveland State, even though they shot a tepid 26.1 percent (6-of-23) from outside. Kent State managed 52.5 percent from the field overall with a 48-20 edge on points in the paint and 17 team assists. That gives the Flashes 86 or more points in every game so far, and they’ve won three in a row—but they’ve all been fairly close finishes.

As for Wright State, on Saturday they put up a nice effort versus Radford and won handily. It was a nice bounce-back after the double-digit loss to Toledo this past week—the Raiders’ second consecutive 10-point defeat, in fact. Wright State will be trouble here if they can keep the scoring up. Should be an interesting matchup.
