Wofford Terriers Betting Preview
It’s been an up-and-down campaign for Wofford so far, and they’ve barely been able to keep their heads above the .500 mark. The Terriers lost seven of their first 11 games, falling versus Lipscomb, Presbyterian, Duke, Milwaukee, Portland State, Elon, and Charleston in that time. A 7-2 run came next with wins over Saint Louis, Kentucky Christian, East Tennessee State, Western Carolina, Furman, Mercer, and the Citadel. The losses came to only UNC Greensboro and Chattanooga otherwise. Since then it’s been a 3-4 run for the Terriers. They’ve fallen to Samford, VMI, Chattanooga, and Samford again in that time with wins over UNC Greensboro, Mercer, and the Citadel. That gives Wofford a 14-13 overall run through 27 games so far.
In the Samford matchup over the weekend, the Terriers came out of the locker room with a 34-25 advantage. Wofford was outscored 51-34 the rest of the way, however, resulting in a loss of 76-68 in the end. Leading the team in scoring was Kyler Filewich with 18 points, nine rebounds, and three assists. Justin Bailey added 13 points with four steals, and Corey Tripp had 11 points with three assists and three rebounds in 33 minutes of work.
VMI Keydets Betting Preview
Over on the VMI side, they had a pretty rough run going into mid-January but they’ve been better since then. The Keydets were just 6-11 over their first 17 games. The losses in that time came versus Tennessee Tech, Pitt, Davidson, Loyola MD, George Washington, Queens U, Richmond, East Tennessee State, Mercer, Samford, and Chattanooga. VMI has won seven of 10 games since then, losing to only UNC Greensboro, East Tennessee State, and UNC Greensboro again in that time. Otherwise, it’s been wins over Western Carolina, the Citadel, Furman, Wofford, Western Carolina, the Citadel again and Mercer in succession. That gives the Keydets a 13-14 overall record so far this year in their first 27 games.
Matched up against Mercer on Saturday, the Keydets were up by two points in the locker room. VMI hit a 44-37 run the rest of the way and ended up winning 80-71 in the end. Tops in scoring was Rickey Bradley with 22 points, nine rebounds, four assists, and a steal. TJ Johnson added 19 points with five rebounds and two steals, while Augustinas Kiudulas had 18 points with six rebounds, two assists, and two steals in 36 minutes of work on the floor.

Wofford vs VMI Prediction
I’m going to lean toward VMI here, but you could call it either way. The Keydets didn’t shoot all that great in their latest road win over Mercer (40.7 percent) but they were competitive on the boards and had a nice 25-of-29 result (86.2 percent) from the line. VMI is 2-2 in their last four with 80 or more points in the wins and fewer than 56 points in the two losses, so putting up a good points total here will be important for the Keydets.
VMI managed to win 74-67 on the road the last time these teams met up back on January 29. The Keydets didn’t rebound very well in that one (a 39-28 deficit) but otherwise played pretty well. I like another solid performance in the home rematch.
