West Georgia Wolves Betting Preview
The Wolves started out the season on a rough run, but they’ve been better lately. West Georgia hit a 1-2 stretch over their first three outings, with a win over Huntingdon College AL sandwiched in between losses to Nebraska and UCLA. Three straight wins came next versus the Citadel, Tennessee Tech and South Carolina Upstate, but the Wolves would lose their latest outing versus Georgia Tech. That leaves West Georgia with a 4-3 run across seven games so far this year.
In the matchup with Georgia Tech back on November 23, the Wolves came out of the gate with a one-point lead 34-33 by halftime. West Georgia was outscored 49-32 the rest of the way however, leading to an 82-66 loss in the end. Topping the scorers was Shelton Williams-Dryden with 21 points, nine rebounds and two assists. Josh Smith had 13 points with four boards and four assists, and Malcolm Noel had 13 points in 14 minutes of work during the loss.
Troy Trojans Betting Preview
Over on the Troy side, they conversely started out very well this year but they’ve been on a shaky run since then. The Trojans beat Kent State, Furman and Pensacola Christian College in their first three games. Since then it’s been a rough 2-4 stretch, though. The losses in that time were versus Loyola Marymount, Cal State Northridge, USC and Toledo. The wins otherwise came versus San Diego State and Saint Francis, giving the Trojans a 5-4 record over their first nine games of the season.
Matched up against Saint Francis on Wednesday, the Trojans faced a five-point deficit by halftime. Troy bounced back on a 46-31 run the rest of the way however, leading to a 74-64 win in the end. Thomas Dowd led the team with his 18 points and 11 rebounds in 34 minutes, while Victor Valdez chipped in 14 points with four boards and three assists. Jerrell Bellamy added 10 points with four boards in 18 minutes as well.

West Georgia vs Troy Prediction
I might take a stab on West Georgia here. The Wolves had a bad second half in their latest loss to Georgia Tech, but they’d been playing well before the break. West Georgia ended up with just 39.1 percent shooting, 28 percent (7-of-25) from 3-point range and 52.9 percent (9-of-17) at the line however, alongside a 46-26 rebounding deficit and a 52-20 disadvantage on points in the paint. West Georgia has been below 67 points in four of their seven games so far this season; I’d like to see them reach the 70-point mark on Monday at least.
As for Troy, they weren’t great from 3-point range (21.7 percent on 5-of-23) or the line (63.3 percent on 19-of-30) in their latest win over Saint Francis, and also coughed up a whopping 19 turnovers. The Trojans were otherwise pretty solid up front though, and played some good defense. Troy has been scoring pretty well themselves over the last five games, with 68 or more points in each.
