In the Iowa game on Wednesday the Huskies were looking pretty good at the break, sporting a seven-point advantage 48-41. Washington was outplayed in the second half on a 43-26 deficit though, eventually taking a double-digit loss at home 84-74. Hannes Steinbach doubled up in the loss with 20 points and 12 boards, as did Zoom Diallo with 16 points and 12 assists with six rebounds.
UCLA Bruins Betting Preview
Over on the Bruins’ side, they were able to log a 10-3 record in their first 13 games this season. The only losses in that time were versus Arizona, California and Gonzaga. After a 2-3 run that featured a trio of losses to Iowa, Wisconsin and Ohio State, UCLA then beat Purdue, Northwestern, Oregon and Rutgers over the next five. That makes for a 16-7 record in 23 outings so far.
Matched up against Rutgers on Tuesday the Bruins were ahead by a comfortable 52-40 margin at the break. UCLA kept it going on a nice 46-26 second half and eventually pulled off the blowout victory at home 98-66. Xavier Booker led the team on 24 points with five rebounds and Tyler Bilodeau had 19 points with seven boards. Donovan Dent doubled on 13 points and 11 assists as well.

I’ll lean toward UCLA. The Bruins demolished a struggling Rutgers team at Pauley Pavilion this week, hitting a very nice 55.6 percent from the field, 57.1 percent (12-of-21) from outside and 88.9 percent (16-of-18) from the line. The 32-22 advantage in the paint and two turnovers were quite helpful as well. UCLA is a solid 6-2 in their last eight games and they’ve scored a nice 69 or more points in each of the last seven.
As for Washington, they couldn’t keep up with a good Iowa team in their latest home loss despite hitting 56.9 percent from the field with a 27-19 rebounding edge. The Huskies gave up 59.6 percent shooting on defense and had 12 turnovers, though. Washington is just 2-5 in their last seven games, however they’ve scored 72 or more points in three of the last four.
