Wagner Seahawks Betting Preview
Wagner has four games in the bag so far, and needless to say, the season hasn’t gone very well. The Seahawks were blown out by VCU 103-74 in their opener thanks in part to a 52-34 second half. Leading the scoring in the losing effort was Sam Smith with 16 points in 22 minutes. As for game two, Wagner took a loss to Seton Hall 68-61 after a 31-30 halftime edge. John Awoke was tops this time on 20 points with three rebounds in 22 minutes of action during the defeat. Next came a matchup with Fordham on November 11 and another loss for the Seahawks. Wagner was leading again at halftime 31-26, but eventually fell 63-61 in a tough result. Eddie Placer was tops this time on 20 points, and Nick Jones added 15 points in 29 minutes of work during the defeat.
In their latest outing last weekend versus UMBC, the Seahawks took another loss. This one was in overtime 71-70 and featured another halftime lead 32-28. Nick Jones was the top scorer on the team in the losing effort with 20 points and five boards. Binael Basil was the only other team player to finish in double-figures, notching 14 points and seven rebounds in 25 minutes.
Georgetown Hoyas Betting Preview
Over on the Georgetown side, they’ve also got four games in the bag this year. The Hoyas’ season has gone in the opposite direction however with all being wins. Georgetown opened up versus Morgan State on November 3, turning a 42-34 halftime lead into an 87-70 victory. Leading the way was KJ Lewis with 14 points and five boards. Malik Mack added 11 points and four assists as well. In game two Georgetown beat Maryland 70-60 in a road matchup following a 32-27 lead at the break. The Hoyas were led by Mack this time with 19 points, and Caleb Williams added 14 points with 10 boards. As for game three Georgetown posted a 41-36 halftime edge on Binghamton and cruised to the 83-70 win. Leading the team was Lewis with 20 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double. Vincent Iwuchukwu put up 17 points as well.
Last weekend versus Clemson, the Hoyas were in trouble with a 36-33 deficit in the locker room. Georgetown scored another 46 points from there however, posting the 79-74 win in the end. KJ Lewis was tops on 26 points with four rebounds, and Malik Mack had 16 points with seven assists and three rebounds. Vincent Iwuchukwu chipped in 14 points in the win.

Wagner vs Georgetown Prediction
I might take a stab on Wagner here. Probably staying away, though. The Seahawks need to learn how to finish off a game; they’ve given away halftime leads in a couple of their losses so far, including the OT defeat versus UMBC. Wagner ended up shooting 43.8 percent in that one with a 40-26 edge on points in the paint but also coughed up 15 turnovers in a pretty sloppy overall game (the Retrievers had 18 turnovers). The Seahawks have hit 70 or more points in two of their four outings, and they’ve held opponents below 69 points in the other two. Wagner’s last three losses have each been by seven or fewer points.
