The Vanderbilt Commodores and the Arkansas Razorbacks will meet Sunday afternoon in the SEC Championship at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.

Arkansas Razorbacks Betting Preview

The Arkansas Razorbacks enter Sunday’s contest with a 25–8 overall win–loss record, including a 13–5 mark in conference play and a 5-5 record on the road. The Razorbacks have compiled recent wins over Missouri, Auburn, LSU, Mississippi State and the Texas A&M Aggies, while dropping games to Alabama, Kentucky and the Georgia Bulldogs.

These two teams met earlier this season. Who prevailed? Two months ago, the Arkansas Razorbacks defeated the Vanderbilt Commodores 93-68.

The Arkansas Razorbacks average 90 points (2nd in nation) on 50.1 percent shooting from the field (11th in country) and 38.2 percent shooting from three-point range per game. Turning our attention to the defensive side of the basketball, the Razorbacks are allowing opponents 79.9 points per contest which ranks an abysmal 318th in the nation.

Freshman guard Darius Acuff Jr. leads the Arkansas Razorbacks averaging 22.7 points, 3.1 rebounds, 6.4 assists on 49.4 percent shooting from the field per game, while senior forward Trevon Brazile contributes 13.1 points, 7.3 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 1.6 steals and 1.5 blocks per contest providing the Razorbacks with a strong interior presence.

Vanderbilt Commodores Betting Preview

The Vanderbilt Commodores enter Sunday afternoon’s contest with a 26–7 record, including an 11-7 record in conference play and an 8-4 mark on the road. Vanderbilt has amassed recent wins over Tennessee, Mississippi, Texas A&M and the Georgia Bulldogs, while losing games to Alabama, Kentucky, Arkansas and the Florida Gators.

One week ago, in the Vanderbilt Commodores thrilling 86-82 win over the Tennessee Volunteers, Vanderbilt guard Tyler Tanner tallied 25 points (7 of 9 shooting from the field: 9 of 10 shooting from the free-throw line), 3 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals illustrating his ability to lead the Vanderbilt offense.

The Vanderbilt Commodores average 86.6 points (11th in country) on 47.7 percent shooting from the field (39th in nation) and 35.1 percent shooting from three‑point range per game. Defensively, the Commodores are allowing 74.9 points per contest.

Senior guard Duke Miles leads the Vanderbilt Commodores averaging 15.9 points, 3.1 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 2.6 steals per game. Forward Tyler Nickel contributes 13.7 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.2 assists per contest, while sophomore guard Tyler Tanner provides further backcourt depth averaging 19.9 points, 3.5 rebounds and 5.2 assists per game.

Why the Arkansas Razorbacks Will Win

• Offensive firepower: The Arkansas Razorbacks average 90 points (2nd in nation) on 50.1 percent shooting from the field (11th in country) and 38.2 percent shooting from three-point range per game.

Why the Vanderbilt Commodores Will Win

• Balanced scoring. Duke Miles and Tyler Tanner provide consistent and reliable scoring.

• Frontcourt play. Forward Tyler Nickel contributes 13.7 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.2 assists per contest.

Arkansas Razorbacks vs. Vanderbilt Commodores Prediction

In my view, this matchup features a Vanderbilt team that has reached a point in this week’s SEC tournament where the Commodores identity has been fully established against an Arkansas Razorbacks team that lives in a state of volatility. The Razorbacks lean on game pace, offensive rebounding and quality guard play, but Vanderbilt’s discipline flattens those advantages and forces Arkansas into a half‑court game that is not conducive to the team’s overall success. With that said, I am backing the Vanderbilt Commodores to cover the 2.5 points in this game.

Hans Geevers's Pick: Vanderbilt -2.5
