We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best UTSA vs Colorado pick. As we conclude, we will tie it all together with a summary that produces a sensible pick for a favorable betting outcome in this game.

UTSA Roadrunners Betting Preview

The Roadrunners’ record has been quite spotty so far. UTSA kicked off the year with a 3-2 run, beating College of Biblical Studies, Denver and Southwestern Christian amid losses to SIU Edwardsville and Texas State. Since then it’s been a 1-3 run with a win over Georgia Southern alongside losses to Abilene Christian, South Alabama and Alabama. That gives the Roadrunners a 4-5 record in their first nine games so far this year.

In the Alabama matchup last weekend, the Roadrunners kicked off the game on a 56-17 deficit. UTSA didn’t get any closer than that on the way to a 97-55 blowout win. Jamir Simpson led the team with his 20 points and seven boards in 27 minutes. Dorian Hayes added 12 points with five rebounds in 33 minutes of work in the losing effort as well.

Colorado Buffaloes Betting Preview

Over on the Colorado side, they kicked off the year on a tear but recently took their first loss. The Buffs beat Montana State, Eastern Washington Providence and Alabama State in their first four. The next quartet were wins over UC Davis, San Francisco, Washington and Cal Baptist. Colorado would fall to Colorado State in game nine however, giving the team an 8-1 overall record thus far in the season.

Matched up against Colorado State last Saturday, the Buffaloes went into the second half with a 48-41 deficit. Colorado got slightly better from there but still lost 91-86 in the end. Alon Michaeli was the lead scorer in the loss with 17 points, four rebounds and three assists. Isaiah Johnson chipped in with 17 points, three assists and four rebounds in 29 minutes of work on the floor in the loss as well.

Why the Colorado Buffaloes will win

UTSA vs Colorado Prediction

I’ll stick with Colorado. The Buffaloes are coming off a tough road loss versus Colorado State at Moby Arena last weekend, and this is a good opportunity to turn things around quickly. Colorado shot a nice 62.1 percent from the field with a 56-20 advantage in the paint during the loss, but also missed a few free throws (7-of-13 for 53.8 percent) and gave up 18-of-35 (51.4 percent) from 3-point range to the hot-shooting Rams. The good news is that the Buffaloes are scoring great this year; they’ve got 78 or more points in every game so far.

As for UTSA, they weren’t going to compete with Alabama in their latest road loss—and they didn’t. The Roadrunners shot just 32.8 percent from the field in that one and committed 18 turnovers. that gives UTSA fewer than 59 points in three of the last four games. That won’t get it done against Colorado.

Andrew Jett's Pick: Colorado Buffaloes -21
