Utah Tech Trailblazers Betting Preview
The Trailblazers have had a pretty choppy year thus far. Utah Tech opened with wins over South Dakota and Bethesda, then lost to Arizona, Arizona State and Manhattan. Since then it’s been a 3-2 run for the Trailblazers with losses to Hawaii and Portland State. The wins otherwise were over Mississippi Valley State, Nobel and UC Riverside. Over 10 games so far this year that gives the Trailblazers a 5-5 record for a .500 run.
In their latest matchup on Saturday versus UC Riverside, the Trailblazers took a 41-35 advantage into the second half. Utah Tech finished on a 36-34 run the rest of the way in a 77-69 win. Both Noah Bolanga (eight rebounds; four assists) and Madiba Owona (five rebounds; two assists) notched 12 points apiece as well.
Santa Clara Broncos Betting Preview
Over on the Santa Clara side, they’ve got just one blemish on the schedule so far. The Broncos opened on a nice run, taking out Humboldt State, McNeese, Xavier, Nevada, Idaho State and Louisiana in their first half-dozen outings. Santa Clara would take their first loss of the year versus Saint Louis on November 27, but followed that up with a nice win over Minnesota in the next outing. In total that gives the Broncos a 7-1 record across their first eight games.
Matched up against Minnesota back on Friday, the Broncos were up comfortably with a 51-27 halftime lead. Santa Clara finished with a 48-35 deficit in the second half but held on for the double-digit win 86-75. Christian Hammond led the team on 20 points with two rebounds and two assists, while Elijah Mahi added 13 points with four rebounds and two assists. Brenton Knapper had 11 points with three assists and three different Broncos players also contributed 10 points apiece.

Utah Tech vs Santa Clara Prediction
I’ll lean toward Santa Clara. The Broncos are rolling along quite nicely these days and coming off a solid win over Minnesota. Santa Clara shot a cool 54.4 percent from the field and 51.6 percent (16-of-31) from 3-point range in that one but did get outmuscled up front on a 30-24 rebounding deficit and a 34-26 disadvantage on points in the paint. The Broncos have scored 70 or more points in three straight games, with 80 or more in two of those (both wins).
As for Utah Tech, they shot well themselves in their last game versus UC Riverside, hitting 52.8 percent from the field and 15-of-18 (83.3 percent) from the line. The Trailblazers have been pretty choppy on the scoreboard over the last four outings, with fewer than 64 points in two of those (both losses). If they don’t get it going quickly in this one, Utah Tech will be playing from behind for the whole game.
