Utah Tech Trailblazers Betting Preview
It’s been a pretty miserable season so far for the Trailblazers, save for a brief run in December/January. Utah Tech opened on a 2-10 run with wins over only Bethesda U and Denver, then took wins over Whittier, South Dakota, Texas Arlington, and Tarleton State (with a loss to FIU) in the next five outings. Losses to Seattle, Utah Valley, Grand Canyon, Tarleton State, Texas Arlington, Abilene Christian, Southern Utah, Cal Baptist, Utah Valley, Abilene Christian, Southern Utah, and Cal Baptist came over the next dozen outings. In total that leaves the Trailblazers at just 6-23 across 29 games so far this season.
In the Cal Baptist home rematch on Saturday, the Trailblazers came out of the locker room with a 30-26 edge. Utah Tech was outpaced 35-27 the rest of the way, however, and ended up dropping the game 61-57. Leading the team in scoring during the losing effort was Beon Riley, who notched a double-double on 11 points, 10 boards and two assists in 30 minutes of action. Madiba Owona also reached double-figures with his 10 points and two assists.
Grand Canyon Antelopes Betting Preview
Over on the Grand Canyon side, they had a couple of instances of consecutive losses early in the year but otherwise, they’ve looked great. The Antelopes went 6-4 over their first 10 outings with losses to Arizona State, UC Davis, Georgia, and LA Tech. An 11-1 run came next with a loss to Utah Valley among wins over Chicago State, Saint Louis, San Diego, Bryant, Southern Utah, Abilene Christian, Tarleton State, Southern Utah, Utah Tech, Seattle, and Utah Valley. Following another loss to Cal Baptist the Lopes took out Tarleton State, TX-Arlington (twice), Cal Baptist, and Seattle U in the next five. That gives GCU a 22-6 record in 28 games this year.
Matched up against Seattle in the road rematch on Saturday, the Lopes held a 37-23 edge by the break. Grand Canyon had to hang on after a 37-26 run from there but still won 63-60. Topping the scorers was Duke Brennan with 18 points and 12 rebounds in 26 minutes. JaKobe Coles doubled up as well with 13 points, 12 boards, and four assists, while Makiah Williams had 12 points with three rebounds in 33 minutes of action on the floor.

Utah Tech vs Grand Canyon Prediction
I’ll have to stay with GCU here. The Antelopes had a slow second half in their latest road win over Seattle but managed to hold on in a gritty outing. Grand Canyon gave up just 25.4 percent shooting and had a 46-31 rebounding edge in that one. That said, the Antelopes also coughed up 16 turnovers for 18 Redhawks points, which nearly cost them the game. GCU has five straight wins in the bag, but they’ve been above 66 points in just two of those.
The Lopes bagged a 79-66 road win back on January 25 when these teams last met up. Grand Canyon got into turnover trouble in that one as well, with 14 for nine Utah Tech points. Provided GCU can clean up their act in the home rematch, however, they should have every advantage.
