USC Trojans Betting Preview

USC hasn’t been quite as active as a lot of teams out there so far this season; the Trojans have just four games in the books. The good news however, is that all four have been wins. USC opened up with a 94-64 blowout over Cal Poly on November 3, then beat Manhattan in a similar fashion 114-83 in game two. Game three was another double-digit victory for USC, as they took it 87-67 versus Illinois State. Leading the Trojans in that one was Rodney Rice, who notched a triple-double on 21 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists along the way.

In their most recent appearance versus Troy back on Thursday, USC had their toughest game yet. After three overtime periods, USC would emerge victorious 107-106 in a very tight outcome. Chad Baker-Mazara led the team this time with 34 points and nine rebounds. Rodney Rice added 26 points with nine assists, and Ezra Ausar had 22 points with seven rebounds.

Boise State Broncos Betting Preview

Over on the Boise State side, they opened up the season with something of a shocker loss 79-78 versus Hawaii Pacific on November 3. The Broncos have since gotten better, and took a 101-77 win over Utah Valley in game two. Game three was another win for Boise State, this time 85-65 versus UT Rio Grande Valley. The Montana State matchup on November 15 was a fairly close one however, as Boise State eked one out 62-58 in the end.

Last Tuesday in their most recent outing versus Wichita State, the Broncos got another tight victory. Boise State scored 32 points in the first half and 30 more from there in a 62-59 win. Leading the way was Drew Fielder with 17 points and six rebounds. Andrew Meadow added 15 points with five boards, and Dylan Andrews had 10 points with seven assists and four rebounds in the winning effort for the Broncos.

USC vs Boise State Prediction

I’ll stick with USC. The Trojans had all sorts of trouble with a pesky Troy team in their last outing, eventually getting outmuscled on the boards 56-35 and in the paint 46-36. The 13 turnovers didn’t help matters either, but Troy coughed it up 18 times themselves—leading to 10 USC steals in the triple-overtime win. The Trojans are scoring great these days; they’ve hit 87 or more points in all four outings.

As for Boise State, they’ve looked better since their opener loss. That said, the Broncos have had a couple of fairly close escapes in their last two games. Boise State shot just 37 percent from the field versus Wichita State and got out-rebounded 34-31 along the way. That makes 62 points in consecutive games for the Broncos, but to be fair they’ve been good on defense. This game could go a lot of different ways but I like the Trojans a little better.

Andrew Jett's Pick: USC Trojans -5.5
