UNLV Rebels Betting Preview
The Rebels had a pretty rocky run in the month of November. UNLV opened on a 3-2 stretch, taking losses to TN-Martin and Montana among wins over Chattanooga, Memphis and Saint Joseph’s in that time. The Rebels would lose the next three games, finishing off the first month of the year with a rough 3-5 overall record through eight outings.
In their latest matchup with Rutgers back on Thanksgiving, the Rebels took an 80-65 defeat at Michelob ULTRA Arena. UNLV’s Tyrin Jones and Kimani Hamilton led the starters with 13 points apiece, combining for 11 rebounds, two assists, three blocks and a steal as well. Al Green came off the bench to contribute 13 points in 22 minutes as well, adding two rebounds along the way in the losing effort for the Rebels.
Stanford Cardinal Betting Preview
Over on the Stanford side, they’ve been looking pretty good so far this year. The Cardinal hit a 4-0 run to open the season, beating Portland State, Montana, Montana State and Louisiana in that quartet of outings. Stanford would lose their first game versus Seattle from there, but have since dispatched Minnesota, Saint Louis and Portland in succession. That gives the Cardinal a 7-1 overall run through their first eight games this year.
Matched up against Portland on Monday, the Cardinal managed to bag a 94-72 home win at Maples Pavilion. Stanford’s Jeremy Dent-Smith led the way on 16 points with a pair of steals in 23 minutes off the bench, and Oskar Giltay had 15 points and eight boards with three steals in 21 bench minutes. Tops among starters was Benny Gealer with 15 points and two steals in the winning effort for the Cardinal.

UNLV vs Stanford Prediction
I’ll just stick with Stanford I suppose. The Cardinal didn’t have a ton of trouble with a middling Portland team in their last outing, shooting a nice 52 percent from the field and 14-of-33 (42 percent) from outside. Stanford did give up 51 percent shooting to the Pilots, but Portland’s 18 turnovers turned into 11 steals for the Cardinal and helped quite a bit in the victory. That makes a nice 69 or more points in every game so far for Stanford, with 72 or more points in all seven wins this year.
As for UNLV, they shot a tepid 40 percent from the field and just 23 percent (5-of-22) from outside in their latest loss to Rutgers. The Rebels were outfoxed on the boards 45-33 but did take care of the ball well with just eight turnovers. UNLV has been giving up a ton of points lately; 74 or more in six straight, in fact. Stanford should have plenty of scoring opportunities in this one.
