UNC Greensboro vs Elon Prediction

I’ll stay with Elon I suppose. Probably not touching this one, tough. The Phoenix got a satisfying road win in their opener versus Columbia, leading from wire to wire. Elon shot 55 percent from the field and 58 percent (7-of-12) from 3-point range in that one, adding a nice 92 percent (11-of-12) from the line. Rebounding-wise it was locked up 31-31 and the Phoenix committed 13 turnovers. All in all a pretty solid opener that will give Elon some confidence coming back home for this one.

As for UNC Greensboro, they didn’t have to do a whole lot versus an overmatched Milligan College team in their opener this week. The Spartans cruised to 56 percent shooting from the field with a 53-31 rebounding advantage. UNCG wasn’t spectacular from the free throw line (15-of-22 for 68 percent) or 3-point range (7-of-25 for 28 percent) but overall there wasn’t much to complain about. Things will get tougher in game two.

UNC Greensboro Spartans Betting Preview

The Spartans didn’t have the greatest year in 2025-26. UNC Greensboro posted a 15-19 overall record with a 9-9 run in SoCon games. With that effort UNC Greensboro finished ahead of only Chattanooga, the Citadel and VMI in the standings, lower than expected in the preseason. The Spartans did beat VMI and Wofford in the SoCon Tournament ahead of a loss to Furman, though.

The Spartans’ opener for the 2026-27 season came on Tuesday versus Milligan College. In that one UNC Greensboro rolled to a dominant 96-43 win in front of almost 2,000 people at First Horizon Coliseum in North Carolina. Topping the team was Cameron Grant with 19 points and nine rebounds alongside three blocks. RJ Greer added 15 points with five rebounds and Brock Mishak had 13 points and eight boards in 21 minutes of work off the bench. Dionte Neal chipped in with 14 points, four rebounds and seven assists in 30 minutes during the victory.

Elon Phoenix Betting Preview

Over on the Elon side, they didn’t have the greatest campaign in 2025-26 either. The Phoenix went 14-18 overall with a 6-12 run in Coastal Athletic Association games. Elon landed ahead of only North Carolina A&T and Northeastern with that record. After a four-game skid to finish off the regular season, the Phoenix lost to William & Mary in the first game of the CAA Tournament, ending their year for good.

This year the Phoenix played their opener on the road at Levien Gymnasium in New York against Columbia. In that one Elon was able to pull out a victory 84-71. Leading the team in scoring was Josh Dalton with 21 points, eight rebounds and two blocks. Hunter Harding added 15 points with eight rebounds and eight assists while Bryson Cokley chipped in 13 points and three turnovers during the victory effort.
