UCLA Bruins Betting Preview
The Bruins managed to go 10-3 over their first 13 games this season. The only losses in that time were versus Arizona, California and Gonzaga. After a 2-3 run that featured a trio of losses to Iowa, Wisconsin and Ohio State, UCLA has since won consecutive games over Purdue and Northwestern in their most recent pair. After 20 games so far this year that gives the Bruins a 14-6 record in the books.
Back on Saturday versus Northwestern, the Bruins were sitting in the locker room with a nice 41-31 edge. UCLA was outscored 33-30 the rest of the way but managed to hang on for a 71-64 win at home in the end. Both Trent Perry (three assists; two rebounds) and Tyler Bilodeau (four rebounds; one assist) led the team with 18 points apiece. Donovan Dent added 13 points with five assists and four boards.
Oregon Ducks Betting Preview
Over on the Oregon side, they were able to win their first four games of the season, then hit the skids with five straight losses. The Ducks would take out UC Davis, Portland, Omaha and Maryland over the next five games, then fell to Rutgers, Ohio State, Nebraska, Michigan and Michigan State in succession from there. In the first 19 games of the year the Ducks had an 8-11 overall run.
In game 20 versus Washington on Sunday the Ducks were in trouble at halftime suffering from a 34-19 deficit. Oregon kept the pace in the second on a 38-38 run but couldn’t make any headway in the comeback bid during a road loss 72-57 in the end. Sean Stewart led the team on 15 points with three rebounds while Kwame Evans provided 11 points with eight boards in the losing effort.

UCLA vs Oregon Prediction
I’ll stick with UCLA. The Bruins were able to fend off a middling Northwestern team at home in their last outing, shooting a nice 49.1 percent from the field and 44.4 percent (8-of-18) from outside. UCLA also had a 30-24 edge on points in the paint but had a rough day at the line on just 52.4 percent (11-of-21) there. Still, that gives the Bruins four wins in their last five games with 69 or more points in each of the last four.
These teams met up way back on December 6, which seems like ages ago now. In that one the Bruins recorded a 74-63 win at Pauley Pavilion, thanks in part to 44.4 percent shooting (8-of-18) from outside, 85.7 percent (18-of-21) at the line, a 32-28 rebounding edge and just eight turnovers. Oregon didn’t shoot very well (33.9 percent) in that one, but should look better in the home rematch.
