Tulsa Golden Hurricane Betting Preview
The Hurricane only took one loss in their first 14 games, then fell in consecutive outings versus North Texas and South Florida in January. Tulsa beat Charlotte, UAB, Memphis, Rice, North Texas, Wichita State and Florida Atlantic. After another loss to South Florida last weekend, the Golden Hurricane were left with a 20-4 overall record in the books across their first 24 outings.
On Wednesday versus UAB, Tulsa had things all tied up 29-29 by the end of the first half. The Hurricane were outscored 39-34 the rest of the way however, resulting in a tough loss on their home court 68-63 in the end. Tylen Riley put up 15 points with nine rebounds and five assists in the losing effort. Miles Barnstable added 15 points with three rebounds and one assist.
Wichita State Shockers Betting Preview
Over on the Wichita State side, they managed a 9-5 run in their first 14 outings this year. The Shockers then fell to Charlotte, Rice and Florida Atlantic in their next four games. A 5-1 run came after that with wins over South Florida, East Carolina, Memphis, Charlotte and Tulane. Over the first 24 games of the season that would give Wichita State a 15-9 record for their troubles.
Matched up against South Florida on Wednesday the Shockers were looking pretty good at the break on a 33-26 advantage. Wichita State faltered from there however, hitting a 40-25 deficit the rest of the way in a 66-58 home loss in the end. Kenyon Giles led the team on 24 points in the losing effort. Will Berg managed to double up on 10 points and 13 rebounds with one assist as well.

Tulsa vs Wichita State Prediction
I’ll stick with Wichita State. The Shockers need a good bounce-back game here following their rough loss to USF on Wednesday, however. Wichita State shot a miserable 31.7 percent from the field and 20.7 percent (6-of-29) from 3-point range in that one. The 30-20 deficit on points in the paint and the 13 turnovers didn’t help either. The Shockers are still 5-2 in their last seven games though, and they’d scored 74 or more points in six straight prior to their dismal 58-point total on Wednesday.
These teams last met up back on February 1 in a 93-83 road loss for Wichita State. In that one the Shockers shot a pretty solid 44 percent from the field but did miss a few free throws (20-of-32 for 63 percent). Wichita State’s major statistical outlier however, was the 60 percent shooting surrendered on defense. That number needs to come way, way down in the home rematch.
