-Recent Betting trends and streaks involving South Carolina

-Recent betting trends in games played between Texas and South Carolina

-A summary that ties it all together and produces a favorable betting outcome for Today’s Game between the Longhorns and Gamecocks.

Can Texas Make a Run?

The biggest issue for Texas this season has been inconsistency, and heading into this game, they have lost three of the last four games. The win came against Kentucky, and they secured the 82-72 victory. Texas scored 45 points in the second half to help seal the victory. Even though they won, Texas only shot 21.7 percent from deep, which was odd for how they played the rest of the season. The win was impressive, but there has to be a bit of concern about how the rest of the offense played. Tre Johnson had a huge game, putting up 32 points, and Tramon Mark added another 26 points. No one else scored in double figures, though. Kadin Shedrick played 31 points and finished with five points.

Away from home this season, they sit with a 3-4 record overall, and trusting them has not been fun this season. The stats don’t look that bad, but a couple of games have inflated the stats. Texas averages 78.7 points per game, which is 69th in the league. Tre Johnson is averaging 19.8 points while shooting 43.8 percent from the field. Arthur Kaluma is the second-leading scorer, but he left the last game with an injury and is questionable for this game.

Why Texas Will Beat South Carolina

  • South Carolina has lost each of its last 14 games against Conference opponents.
  • Texas has won nine of its last 10 night games against non-AP-ranked opponents.
  • The road team has won the first half in each of Texas’ last seven games.

South Carolina Has Been a Disappointment

South Carolina has been a major disappointment this season and they have won only 10 games. They haven’t been a hard team to figure out, though. When they are the favorites, they have a 9-1 record overall, and as an underdog, they have gone 1-15. South Carolina has lost 13 games in a row, with the defense really letting them down lately. Two games ago against Florida, they lost 88-67, and in the last game against LSU, they lost 81-67. South Carolina shot 47.1 percent from the field, but it wasn’t enough, with the defense allowing LSU to shoot 50 percent.

The defense hasn’t been great, but the biggest issue for this team has been the inconsistent offense. The Gamecocks are averaging only 69.6 points per game, which is 293rd in the league. Collin Murray-Boyles has been the top player, averaging 15.5 points while shooting 57.3 percent from the field. He has scored at least 10 points each of the last 11 games, but the production around him hasn’t been good enough.

Why South Carolina Will Beat Texas

  • South Carolina has won 20 of its last 23 games at Colonial Life Arena against non-AP-ranked opponents.
  • Texas has lost three of its last four road games.
  • Texas has lost the first half in each of its last three night games against Conference opponents.

Texas vs South Carolina Prediction

I am not that interested in betting on the side, but I do love the total. South Carolina’s offense averages only 69.6 points per game, and in the last two games, they have scored only 67 points. Even if Kaluma can go for Texas in this game, he won’t be 100 percent, and the Longhorns offense isn’t as strong here. The under is 5-1 in the Longhorn’s last six games following a straight-up win. Texas will have a strong offensive game, but they aren’t going to make up for the lack of scoring by South Carolina. This game is going to stay under the total.
