Texas A&M Aggies Betting Preview

The Aggies have been quite reliable for most of the season, however, they’ve hit a bit of a skid lately. Texas A&M opened things up on a 13-2 run with losses to only UCF and Oregon. A 2-3 run came next with wins over LSU and Ole Miss alongside losses to Alabama, Kentucky, and Texas. The Aggies would beat Oklahoma, South Carolina, Missouri, Georgia, and Arkansas in their next five, then lost to Mississippi State, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, and Florida ahead of an upset win versus Auburn. That gives the Aggies a 21-9 overall run through 30 games so far.

In the Auburn home matchup on Tuesday, the Aggies exited the locker room with a 40-34 advantage. Texas A&M kept it up in the second half on a 43-38 run and took the eventual win 83-72 in the end. Zhuric Phelps led the team with 19 points, one assist, one rebound and one steal in 23 minutes of work off the bench. Wade Taylor added 16 points with three boards, and Andersson Garcia doubled up with 11 points, 11 rebounds, five assists, and two steals.

LSU Tigers Betting Preview

Over on the LSU side, they were looking good as the calendar flipped over to 2025, but it’s been a rough ride since then. The Tigers lost to only Pitt and SMU in their first 13 games, then lost to Vanderbilt, Missouri, and Ole Miss before a win over Arkansas. Losses to Texas A&M, Alabama, Auburn, Texas, Georgia, Ole Miss, and Arkansas came next, then wins over Oklahoma and South Carolina. Since then it’s been four straight losses to Florida, Tennessee, Mississippi State, and Kentucky, giving the Tigers a 14-16 record in their first 30 outings.

In the Kentucky matchup on Tuesday, the Tigers were demolished 50-23 in the first half. LSU limped to a 95-64 blowout loss after a 45-41 deficit in the second. Robert Miller led the way in the defeat with his 15 points, six rebounds, and one steal. Cam Carter added 14 points with four rebounds, and Jordan Sears came off the bench for 13 points and two rebounds.

Texas A&M vs LSU Prediction

I’ll lean toward Texas A&M. I normally don’t like taking teams after huge upset wins but this is one that the Aggies need to have in order to maintain their momentum going into tournament time. Texas A&M had a nice 41-25 rebounding edge (24-9 offensive) on a great Auburn squad during their latest victory, which helped offset the 50 percent shooting allowed to the Tigers. The victory halts a four-game losing streak against some tough teams (three of them ranked).

The last time these teams met up, Texas A&M secured a 68-57 home victory on January 18. The Aggies gave up just 36.2 percent shooting in that one and had 19 points off 18 Tigers turnovers. Texas A&M can’t rely on mistakes so heavily here, but should still be in a good position to control this road rematch. LSU has been below 70 points in four straight games (all against ranked opponents), so if the Aggies can continue that trend they’ll be okay.

Andrew Jett's Pick: Texas A&M Aggies -5.5
