Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles Betting Preview
The Eagles have been pretty busy so far, with five games in the can already. Tennessee Tech lost to Georgia in their opener but bounced back well in the next trio with wins over Bryan, West Georgia, and VMI.
In game five versus UTRGV on Saturday, the Eagles fell back into the loss column. Tennessee Tech was down by 10 points at the break, then gave up 42 more points in an 83-58 blowout. Jaylon Johnson put up 13 points, three rebounds and three assists in the defeat.
UCF Knights Betting Preview
Over on the Knights’ side, they’ve played only three games but the results have been great thus far. Central Florida took out a very good Texas A&M team 64-61 in the opener, then beat Fort Wayne 75-68 two days later to avoid the big-win hangover.
UCF was able to keep it going against Florida Atlantic last Tuesday, but it was fairly close. The Knights were up 46-36 by halftime then got outscored 58-54 in a 100-94 win. Keyshawn Hall led the team with 26 points with seven rebounds, and Jordan Ivy-Curry added 22 points.
Why the UCF Knights will win
- Tennessee Tech has lost each of its last eight Tuesday night road games against non-conference opponents.
- UCF has won nine of its last 10 night games at Addition Financial Arena against non-AP-ranked opponents.
Why the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles will win
- Tennessee Tech has won three of its last four games against non-AP-ranked opponents.
Tennessee Tech vs UCF Prediction
I’m going to stay with UCF, but the line’s probably too thick to mess with. The Knights are looking quite good so far. In the FAU matchup, UCF slowed a bit in the second half but still shot 54.2 percent from the field and a nice 92 percent (23-of-25) from the line alongside a 35-29 rebounding edge. The lone blemish was 16 turnovers.
As for Tennessee Tech, they’re coming off a rough loss against a relatively solid UTRGV team. The Eagles shot a tepid 37.7 percent from the field and only got to the line twice—not to mention the 47-24 rebounding deficit. UCF should have every advantage here in a comfortable home game.
