The Seawolves could only maintain a .500 record over their first 18 games this year, going 9-9 in that time. Stony Brook would then beat Hofstra, Charleston, Northeastern, Campbell and Elon in succession before a 1-2 run with losses to Monmouth and Towson. The Seawolves have since dispatched Drexel and Hampton, giving the team a 17-11 record overall.
In the Hampton game last weekend the Seawolves were sitting in the locker room with a 33-29 advantage. Stony Brook kept it going on a 46-43 run the rest of the way and powered out the win in the end 79-72. Leading the team in scoring was Erik Pratt with 34 points, six boards, two assists and two steals. Richard Goods added 15 points with seven rebounds and two assists.

Over on the Monmouth side, they started out the season on an 8-10 overall run. The Hawks won three of their next five games over Northeastern, Campbell and North Carolina A&T. Stony Brook vs Monmouth Prediction
I’ll lean toward Stony Brook but this one’s a coin flip. The Seawolves are coming off a pretty solid win over Hampton, shooting a nice 54.3 percent from the field with 74.1 percent (20-of-27) at the line. Stony Brook was competitive on the boards and in the paint, but they also coughed up 16 turnovers along the way. The Seawolves have won three of their last four games, scoring 69 or more points in each of those wins.
Back on February 5 when these teams last met up, Stony Brook took a close 76-75 home loss. The Seawolves shot 43.1 percent from the filed and 87.5 percent (14-of-16) from the line alongside a 40-34 rebounding advantage and just 39.1 percent shooting allowed on defense. The major problem however, was the 17 turnovers. Stony Brook will need to get the mistakes under control in the road rematch.
