Stephen F. Austin vs Rice Prediction
I’ll take a stab on Rice here. I could probably go either way, though; it’ll be a fun matchup. In any case, the Owls didn’t look too bad against Oregon despite losing steam in the second half during a tough road matchup. Rice ended up with just 35.5 percent shooting, a 36-33 rebounding deficit and got outscored 20-16 in the paint. That said, the Owls also held Oregon to just 32.7 percent shooting on the other side and managed 11 assists.
As for Stephen F. Austin, they didn’t have too many difficulties in their latest outing versus Arkansas State. The Lumberjacks shot a nice 48.6 percent from the field with 36.4 percent from 3-point range, a 40-22 rebounding edge and a 34-20 advantage on points in the paint. The 10-of-19 (52.6 percent) from the free throw line and the 14 turnovers were just about the only things to complain about in the 25-point win. That gives the Lumberjacks a pair of high-scoring blowout wins on the card so far. They’ll be a tough opponent but I think Rice pulls it off here.
