Saint Louis Billikens Betting Preview
The Billikens have had their ups and downs this season but overall they haven’t played too badly record-wise. St. Louis kicked things off with a 6-6 run over their first 12 games, then took wins over William Woods, Fordham, Saint Joseph’s, St. Bonaventure, Richmond and La Salle in the next seven outings. A rough 2-5 stretch came next though, featuring losses to George Washington, Dayton, Saint Joseph’s, George Mason and Loyola Chicago. The Billikens finished off the regular season with a 4-1 run with wins over Rhode Island, Davidson, Loyola and Duquesne. After a tournament win over Davidson, St. Louis fell to Loyola in game two. That gives the Billikens a 19-14 overall record this year.
In the Loyola matchup back on Friday, the Billikens were trailing 38-30 at halftime. St. Louis kept the pace from there 34-34 but ended up falling 72-64 in the end. Leading the way in scoring was Isaiah Swope with 30 points, four rebounds, three assists and a steal. Robbie Avila added 12 points with six boards and two assists as the only other player on the team to finish in double-figures.
Arkansas State Red Wolves Betting Preview
Over on the Arkansas State side, they’ve had a couple of choppy runs this year but overall they’ve done very well in the record column. The Red Wolves were 11-5 back in early January with losses to only Alabama, Rice, Hofstra, James Madison and South Alabama. After a win streak over Troy, Louisiana, Georgia State, App State, Texas State and Southern Miss, the Wolves lost to Marshall, Kent State, Troy and South Alabama in the next five. Arkansas State beat LA Monroe, Louisiana, LA Monroe again, Marshall and South Alabama from there before a tourney loss to Troy. That gives Arkansas State a 24-10 record this year.
Last week versus Troy the Red Wolves were up by two at halftime. Arkansas State fell behind on a 53-38 run from there though, losing the championship 94-81. Dyondre Dominguez led the team off the bench with 19 points and five boards alongside four blocks. Derrian Ford came off the bench for 17 points, four rebounds and three assists as well.

Saint Louis vs Arkansas State Prediction
I’ll lean toward Arkansas State. The Red Wolves have been off the court for a while though (last Monday) and may be a little rusty initially. In their Sun Belt Championship loss to Troy, Arkansas State shot a tepid 41.3 percent from the field with a 39-35 rebounding deficit and 12 turnovers for 17 Trojans points. The good news is that the offense is still kicking; the Red Wolves have 74 or more points in six straight games (a 5-1 run).
As for Saint Louis, they missed six of 18 free throws (66.7 percent), got outmuscled on the boards 37-30 and had 10 turnovers for 13 Loyola points in their Atlantic 10 Tournament loss. The 64 points in that one were a disappointment after a combined 173 in the previous pair as well. I like the Billikens to bounce back a bit in a fairly high-scoring game here, but Arkansas State should have the advantage overall.
