Southeast Missouri State Redhawks Betting Preview
Southeast Missouri State had a nice run last season, but it ended in disappointment. The Redhawks managed to go 21-12 overall—a stellar improvement over their 9-22 run the season before—and hit a 15-5 run in the Ohio Valley games. That result would put Southeast Missouri State in first place for the regular-season conference championship, two games ahead of SIU Edwardsville. Southeast Missouri State lost at Eastern Illinois in their final regular season game, breaking a 10-game win streak in the process. After a win over Little Rock in the Ohio Valley Tournament, the Redhawks eventually fell to SIU Edwardsville in the championship game.
This year Southeast Missouri State is still scratching their heads over the postseason snub last season, but once the lights go up in the opener it’ll be forgotten. The Redhawks do get a strong returning core of players in 2025-26, including over 50 percent of their scoring and 45 percent of their rebounding. Brendan Terry (11.2 PPG) is the team’s top returning scorer and led the team in blocks last year. He’ll be joined by big men Elliot Lowndes (2.3 PPG) and David Idada (2.1 PPG), who posted some nice scoring and rebounding averages between them last season. Rob Martin and Tedrick Washington have both departed however, taking with them around 38 percent of the Redhawks’ total offense.
Saint Louis Billikens Betting Preview
Over on the Billikens’ side, they managed to take a big step forward in the record column last season as well. Saint Louis limped to a 13-20 overall record in 2023-24, but improved on that with a 19-15 overall run a year ago. The Billikens’ 11-7 run in the Atlantic 10 put them behind only VCU, George Mason, Dayton and Loyola Chicago in the standings. Saint Louis finished the season on a solid 4-1 run then took out Davidson in the opener of the A-10 Tournament. In game two the Billikens were dispatched by Loyola Chicago, however. Following a bid to the NIT, Saint Louis took a first-round loss to Arkansas State 103-78 on March 18 to end the year.
Moving on to this season, Saint Louis gets some important contributors back on the roster but also has plenty of new faces. Robbie Avila joins Kalu Anya (6.5 PPG) as the two returning starters. Paul Otieno (13.0 PPG) joins the fray from Quinnipiac as well, and should provide some nice performances on the glass after 8.6 RPG last year.

Southeast Missouri State vs Saint Louis Prediction
I’m going to take a stab on Southeast Missouri State. The Redhawks retain a pretty good amount of their contributions from last year, which is pretty impressive in this age of the transfer portal. Head coach Brad Korn is coming off an offseason contract extension and he’ll be focused on building a winning team for future years. The focus this season will once again be on defense, an area in which SEMO ranked exceptionally well among OVC teams a season ago. It remains to be seen whether or not this group can replicate the now-departed scoring, but if they can maintain the defense-first philosophy I like the Redhawks to start strong.
