I’ll stick with South Alabama but you could call this one either way. The Jags weren’t overwhelming in their latest win over Louisiana but they got the job done for a nice road victory. South Alabama shot 44.4 percent from the field in that one with a nice 17-of-20 (85 percent) from the line and 31 rebounds. That gives the Jaguars a 3-3 run over their last six games though, and they’ve been below 66 points in four of those games.
As for Troy, they were able to fend off a middling Texas State team with 61.4 percent shooting and a great 10-of-16 (62.5 percent) from outside. The Trojans had just eight turnovers along the way, but the foul shooting (20-of-32 for 62.5 percent) could have been better. Troy has won four straight games now, with 70 or more points in all four and 86 or more in three of them.
