Over on the Saint Peter’s side, they couldn’t stay above a .500 record in their first nine games this year, going just 4-5 overall to start. Saint Peter’s got better quickly, though. They took out Centenary NJ, Fairfield, Marist, Merrimack, Quinnipiac, Rider and Iona over the next nine games. After losses to Merrimack and Rider over the next trio however, Saint Peter’s was left with a 12-8 run over the first 20 outings.
Matched up with Manhattan on Thursday the Peacocks were ahead by halftime 43-35. Saint Peter’s got outscored 40-37 the rest of the way but still managed to hang on for a nice win on the road 80-75. Bryce Eaton led the team on 21 points with six assists and two rebounds while Lucas Scroggins managed to post a double-double with his 11 points and 12 rebounds in 26 minutes.

I’ll stick with Siena but you could probably argue this one either way. The Saints shot a healthy 52.5 percent from the field in their comeback win over Iona this week, hitting 90.9 percent (10-of-11) from the line with a 34-22 rebounding edge. The 12 turnovers and 25 percent (5-of-20) from outside were about the only areas to complain about—aside from the 45.9 percent shooting allowed, maybe. Siena has won six straight games now, scoring a nice 69 or more points in each of those.
As for the Peacocks, they were able to stay out in front of Manhattan in a road win this week. Saint Peter’s shot 83.3 percent (15-of-18) from the line in that one and had just four turnovers. The Peacocks are just 2-2 in their last four games though, scoring fewer than 67 points in two of those.
