Niagara Purple Eagles Betting Preview
Over on the Niagara side, they limped to a rough 2-9 run over their first 11 games this year. The only wins in that time came courtesy of Binghamton and Delaware State. The Purple Eagles are just 3-6 in the last nine games, taking losses to Fairfield, Iona, Manhattan, Mount St. Mary’s, Fairfield again and Sacred Heart. Over 20 games this season that gives Niagara a 5-15 record in the books.
Matched up against Sacred Heart back on Saturday, the Eagles held a slim two-point edge heading into the second half. Niagara was outscored 37-34 the rest of the way however, and ended up with a tough loss on the road 71-70. Will Shortt posted a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds in the losing effort and Vice Zanki had 19 points with two rebounds and two assists.

I’ll stick with Siena in this one. The Saints started slowly against a decent Marist team in their last outing but eventually pulled off the home victory thanks to a nice 46.3 percent shooting and a stellar 14-of-14 from the line. The 36-22 rebounding edge and the 38-18 advantage in the paint were very helpful as well. Siena has won three straight with 69 or more points scored in each of those.
The last time these teams saw each other was a while ago, way back on December 5 in an 83-54 home victory blowout for Siena. In that one the Saints shot a cool 52.5 percent from the field with a 41-24 rebounding edge and just nine turnovers, but did get outscored in the paint 34-30. This road rematch likely won’t be so lopsided but Siena should still have control.
