Southeastern Louisiana Lions Betting Preview

The Lions have a couple of games under their collective belt so far this year—and neither one has ended favorably. First came an opener matchup versus Ole Miss last Monday. In that one SE Louisiana was down 45-29 by the break and limped to an 88-58 road loss on a 43-29 second-half disadvantage. Leading the team in the losing effort was Jaiden Lawrence with 15 points and two boards. Also finishing in double-figures was Makhi Myles with 10 points, two rebounds and two assists in 16 minutes of action in the defeat.

In game two back on Friday, Southeastern LA had another road defeat—this time against Louisiana. The Lions fought back from a 34-20 halftime deficit with a 32-24 run in the second but it wasn’t enough in a 58-52 loss in the end. Leading the way in scoring was Jalen Forrest this time, posting 14 points and five rebounds in 26 minutes. Jeremy Elyzee also hit double-digits with 10 points, four rebounds and three assists in 29 minutes during the losing effort.

Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets Betting Preview

Over on the Georgia Tech side, they ran into a bit of trouble at home last Monday in their opener versus a plucky MD Eastern Shore team. The Jackets held a three-point halftime edge but needed overtime to carve out an eventual 56-52 win. Mohamed Sylla was the team’s leading scorer with a double-double on 14 points and 15 rebounds. The only other Yellow Jacket to finish in double-figures was Kowacie Reeves with 12 points, four rebounds and four assists. Jaeden Mustaf chipped in nine points with five rebounds in 35 minutes as well.

Game two versus Bryant on Friday went a little better for Georgia Tech. The Jackets were up 39-22 after one half, then cruised on a 35-23 run on the way to a blowout win 74-45. Tops in scoring was Reeves this time with 18 points and two assists. Akai Fleming added 14 points in 22 minutes, and Sylla doubled up on 10 points with 11 rebounds and three assists in the win. Baye Ndongo chipped in with 10 points and seven rebounds in 20 minutes as well.

Why the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets will win

Southeastern Louisiana vs Georgia Tech Prediction

I’ll lean toward Georgia Tech but I’m probably not going near this one. The Jackets have one close escape and one blowout win in the books so far this year, and I’m willing to bet they’d prefer games like the one against Bryant. Georgia Tech shot 46 percent from the field and 43.5 percent (10-of-23) from 3-point range in that one alongside a 37-34 rebounding edge and 38-18 in their favor in the paint. The foul shooting (6-of-10) and turnovers (12) were just about the only things to complain over in that win.

As for SE Louisiana, they nearly posted a nice comeback versus Louisiana in game two but fell short thanks to a rough 33.3 percent shooting from the field and 4-of-19 (21.1 percent) from outside. The 18-of-31 (58.1 percent) at the line was pretty awful as well, but at least the Lions were competitive up front. Georgia Tech should be in control here if they can own the boards.
