Santa Clara Broncos Betting Preview
The Broncos’ season opened on an 8-1 run with wins over Humboldt State, McNeese, Xavier, Nevada, Idaho State, Louisiana, Minnesota and Utah Tech. Since then it’s been a 1-3 run with a lone win over North Texas. The losses otherwise in that quartet came versus New Mexico, Arizona State and Loyola Chicago. That gives the Broncos a 9-4 record in 13 games this year.
In the Loyola matchup on December 20, the Broncos were all tied up 40-40 at the break. Santa Clara was outscored by two the rest of the way however, leading to a tough loss 80-78. Christian Hammond had 25 points with four rebounds in the defeat, and Elijah Mahi had 21 points with three boards and three assists. Allen Graves chipped in seven points with 10 rebounds as well.
Oregon State Beavers Betting Preview
Over on the Beavers’ side, they won their first three games this year then hit a rough losing streak. Those five losses came versus Oregon, Evansville, Iona, UMass and Cal Baptist. The next five were a 4-1 run though, with a lone loss to Sam Houston among wins over Vermont, Southern Utah, Montana State and Arizona State. The Beavers are 7-6 through their first 13 games this year.
In the Arizona State game on December 21, the Beavers were down by two points at the half. Oregon State clawed back in it on a 40-35 run from there and took the comeback win 78-75. Leading the team in scoring was Josiah Lake with 23 points, nine assists and five boards. Noah Amenhauser was also in double-digits with 10 points and three rebounds in 20 minutes of work.

Santa Clara vs Oregon State Prediction
I’ll stick with Oregon State. The Beavers are coming off a nice road win over a pretty good Arizona State team, shooting 43.9 percent from the field with 18-of-21 (85.7 percent) at the line. Oregon State also posted a 31-26 rebounding edge with 18 assists and 11 turnovers along the way, but got outscored pretty badly 38-22 in the paint. The Beavers have won four of their last five games, posting 75 or more points in four of those outings.
As for Santa Clara, they’re coming off a loss to a struggling Loyola squad, thanks mostly to 39.7 percent shooting from the field and 49.1 percent allowed on the other side. That makes three losses in the last four games for the Broncos, but they’ve also hit 71 or more points in all three of those defeats.
