San Jose State Spartans Betting Preview
The Spartans had a solid run going in December—and they’ve been pretty decent lately—but aside from that it’s been a very rough season. San Jose State depends on a 1-5 stretch with losses to Western Illinois, Pacific, Hawaii, UC Santa Barbara, and USC. A nice 6-1 stretch got the Spartans back above .500: that run had wins over UTEP, UNC Greensboro, Long Beach State, Lincoln University CA, Cal Poly, and Kennesaw State. After falling to Boise State, Colorado State, UNLV and Utah State, San Jose State has won three of their last four. The lone loss came versus Nevada; otherwise, it was wins over Air Force, New Mexico, and Wyoming in that time for a 10-11 overall record so far this season for the Spartans.
In the Wyoming game back on Saturday, San Jose State hit a 23-19 advantage in the first half. The Spartans kept it up from there, riding a 44-39 run to a 67-58 victory by game’s end. Leading the team in scoring was Latrell Davis, who came off the bench to provide 22 points and five rebounds. Sadaidriene Hall added 13 points with seven boards, two assists, and two blocks, while Will McClendon put up 11 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double.
San Diego State Aztecs Betting Preview
Over on the Aztecs’ side, they’ve had a much cleaner run—and much more success—so far this year. SDSU has yet to lose consecutive outings. The Aztecs won eight of their first 10 games, taking out UC San Diego, Occidental, Creighton, Houston Fresno State, San Diego, Cal Baptist, and California. A 3-3 run came next with wins over Boise State, Air Force, and Colorado State mixed with losses to Utah State, New Mexico, and UNLV. Since then it’s been consecutive wins in the last pair over Air Force and Nevada. The result so far has been a 13-5 overall run through the first 18 games of the 2024-25 campaign for San Diego State.
Matched up against Nevada over the weekend, San Diego State was up by seven points going into the second half. The Aztecs got even better from there on a 41-29 run and finished off the 69-50 road win. Magoon Gwath posted a team-high 15 points with 13 boards for a double-double, and Miles Byrd chipped in 11 points with nine assists. Tops off the bench was Taj DeGourville with 14 points and three assists.

San Jose State vs San Diego State Prediction
I’ll stay with the Aztecs. San Diego State is coming off a 19-point road win over Nevada, shooting 48.2 percent along the way. The Aztecs held the opposition to just 29.4 percent from the field and 19.2 percent (5-of-26) from 3-point range in the big win. San Diego State does have bouts of lower-scoring finishes on offense, though. They’ve been below 70 points in five of their last eight games—a 5-3 stretch overall. That said, San Jose State has been below 70 points in three of their last four, so it shouldn’t be too difficult to keep a lid on the Spartans’ scoring in a comfortable home game.
