We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Rhode Island vs Vermont pick. We will examine the recent form and player performances for both teams, as well as the recent betting trends and streaks pertaining to this matchup. As we conclude, we will tie it all together with a summary that produces a sensible pick for a favorable betting outcome in this game.

Rhode Island Rams Betting Preview

The Rams have a half-dozen games in the bag so far this year, and they’ve got a couple of blemishes in that lot. Rhode Island opened with a blowout win over Stetson, but then got blown out themselves by Tulsa in game two. A three-game win streak came next however, as the Rams took out Stonehill, Albany and Yale in succession. On Monday however, Rhode Island took a loss to Towson which dropped their record to 4-2 overall this year.

In the Monday game versus Towson, Rhode Island went into the second half looking up at a four-point deficit. The Rams were outscored 37-34 the rest of the way and ended up losing 62-55 in the end. Myles Corey led the team on 14 points with two rebounds in 26 minutes. The only other double-digit scorer for Rhode Island in the losing effort was Jonah Hinton with 13 points and five rebounds in 32 minutes of action on the court.

Vermont Catamounts Betting Preview

Over on the Catamounts’ side, they kicked off the year on a nice run but they’ve fallen in their last pair. Vermont opened up with a win over Western New England, then beat Plattsburgh State before another win over Brown. Following a win over Northeastern, the Catamounts took a four-point loss to Buffalo for their first defeat of the season. Vermont made it consecutive losses with the Monday game versus Liberty, giving the Catamounts a 4-2 run across their first six games this season so far.

On Monday versus Liberty, the Catamounts went into the break trailing by eight points. Vermont got better from there on a 41-39 run but it wasn’t enough in a 79-73 loss. Leading the team in the losing effort was TJ Long with 19 points and five boards. Gus Yalden added 17 points with five rebounds and two assists, while Lucas Mari doubled up on 10 points, 11 rebounds and three assists for the Catamounts in the defeat.

Rhode Island vs Vermont Prediction

I’ll likely take a stab on Rhode Island. The Rams need a good bounce-back effort here after getting beaten up by Towson, though. Rhode Island didn’t shoot too badly from the floor (42 percent) in that one, but hit just three of their 24 attempts (12.5 percent) from outside and 10-of-16 (62.5 percent) from the line alongside a 30-28 rebounding deficit. The Rams’ 15 turnovers didn’t help matters at all either, and they only had six team assists along the way. Rhode Island has two losses on the card this year, scoring fewer than 66 points in each. Conversely they’ve got 80 or more points in each of their four wins.

As for Vermont, they shot quite well (48.2 percent) from the field on Monday versus Liberty and had a 32-24 rebounding edge. Trouble is, the Flames shot even better on 55.6 percent from the field and 10-of-24 (41.7 percent) from outside. Vermont has 73 or more points in all six of their games so far; you could easily make a case for them Tuesday. Should be a good matchup, all things considered.
